  • Microsoft Teams: update default Teams meeting policy to enforce lobby in meetings for external users – Changes to the default meeting policy to automatically enforce lobby for all external users who join a Teams meeting, including attendees joining via Audio Conferencing. Roadmap ID: 63388
  • Microsoft Teams: new policy to prevent upload of profile picture – Teams desktop and web experiences will honour the Outlook on the Web mailbox policy setting that can control whether users are able change their profile pictures. Roadmap ID: 63389
  • Microsoft Teams: assign a policy package to a batch of Teams users – Batch policy package assignment will allow Teams admins to use cmdlets to assign policies to groups of users. Roadmap ID: 63390
  • Microsoft Teams: easily access meeting options from within a Teams meeting in progress – Microsoft are making it easier for meeting organizers to change their presenter and lobby settings once a Teams meeting starts. Roadmap ID: 63334
  • Microsoft Teams: increase in the number of simultaneous videos in Teams meetings – The number of participants who can be viewed simultaneously on the Teams meeting stage has increased from 4 to 9. Roadmap ID: 63341
  • Microsoft Teams: download a participant report in a Teams meeting – Available in the roster view, meeting organizers can download the report that includes those users who joined while the organizer was present. Roadmap ID: 63351
  • Microsoft Teams: end meeting for all participants within a Teams meeting – Within the meeting control bar, only meeting organizers will now see an item that says “end meeting,”. This action is only available for meeting organizers within the Teams Desktop App (PC and Mac) and on the web. Roadmap ID: 63286
  • Cortana in Teams – Cortana is coming to the Teams mobile app, using AI and the Microsoft Graph to provide voice assistance in Teams. Roadmap ID: 65346
  • Reflect messaging extension – IT administrators will be able to install the Reflect extension from GitHub, and then make it available to employees in their organization in the message extension menu to enable users to check in with their team or students on how they are feeling. Roadmap ID: 65945
  • Device tagging functionality – As part of enhanced manageability, we are releasing Device Tagging functionality. It will enable IT admins to group specific set of devices with user generated Tags and perform actions. Roadmap ID: 66922

  • Microsoft Teams (Education): Education Insights for school leaders – This new Insights app in Microsoft Teams for Education enables leaders to closely track the engagement, online activities and progress of students within their institution or district over time to help uncover and drive better learning outcomes.   • Microsoft Teams (Education): Improvements to settings in Assignments – Educators will be able to set defaults for when assignments are due, where notifications of an assignment are posted, and more. Note – settings are class-specific. Roadmap ID: 66561
  • Microsoft Teams (Education): Assignments user interface improvements for large classes – Improve the speed of viewing and creating assignments for classes of up to 200 students. Roadmap ID: 66563
  • Microsoft Teams (Education): Class materials now accessible for Android devices – Class materials provides a safe, read-only space for educators to deliver course resources to their students. Roadmap ID: 66572
  • Microsoft Teams: GradeSync to OneRoster API – With this API, grades entered in Assignments can be automatically pushed to a OneRoster-compliant school information system (SIS). Roadmap ID: 66576
  • Roster updates from School Data Sync automatically update the Class Notebook roster – Updates to the School Data Sync roster will now automatically flow to the roster within the OneNote Class Notebook, helping educators save time. Roadmap ID: 66577
  • OneNote in Teams: Set Channels to create sections in Collaboration Space or Content Library – Educators will now have the opportunity to elect whether new OneNote sections should be created in a Collaboration Space (which can be edited by students and teachers) or Content Library (editable by teachers but only viewed by students).   • OneNote in Teams “Teacher Only” Section Group enabled by default – Along with the Collaboration Space, Content Library and Student Notebooks, a Teacher-only Section will be enabled by default with each new Course Notebook in Teams for Education. Roadmap ID: 66581

  • 👀 New location for New Chat button, Recent, and Contacts tabs in Chat app – The location of New Chat button is changing, and moving the Contacts and Recent view options to a drop down in the Chat list header, as opposed to standalone tabs. The New Chat button will now be located at the top of the chats list. Roadmap ID: 58033
  • Teams desktop app will roll to existing installs of Office 365 ProPlus and Microsoft/Office 365 Business/Business Premium (on the semi-annual channel) – The desktop Teams client will be downloaded by default for the existing users with Office 365 ProPlus, Microsoft 365 Business, and Microsoft 365 Business Premium apps for customers on the semi-annual channel.   • Flow notifications – Users can now use Microsoft Flow to create flows that notify individual users within Teams. Roadmap ID: 49149

  • Multi-Window Chat (GCC, GCC-High and DoD) – Users will be able to pop out individual Teams chat conversations into a separate window, to help them streamline their workflow and more easily move between ongoing conversations. Roadmap ID: 57292

  • New file sharing experience – You can soon create a shareable link for any file stored in Teams and directly set the appropriate permissions. Additionally, you can also set permissions for files stored in SharePoint or OneDrive while composing a private chat or starting a channel conversation. Roadmap ID: 51230
  • Changes in Incoming IP Video policy (New Audio and Video Policies) – Microsoft are updating our meeting policies to allow IT admins more control over how video is managed in Teams Meetings. Roadmap ID: 57082
  • NDI for Teams – NDI for Microsoft Teams converts a meeting participant’s video into a discrete source that can be used in the production tools for professional broadcasts. Roadmap ID: 66009
  • Live Captions with speaker attribution (EN-US) – Teams already provides live captions as a way to follow along with what is being said in the meeting, Microsoft are also adding speaker attribution so captions will specify who is speaking. Roadmap ID: 65949
  • Turn off text previews for chat notifications – Users can get more privacy by changing their settings to turn off message previews in chat notifications. Roadmap ID: 66744
  • Microsoft Teams: Presenter mode for Microsoft Whiteboard in a Teams meeting – Meeting organizers now have the option to present the contents of their digital whiteboard without meeting participants having the ability to edit the contents. Roadmap ID: 66568
  • Microsoft Teams (Education): Anonymous grading and marking in Assignments – With anonymous grading, educators can elect to hide the names of the students whose work they are reviewing. Roadmap ID: 66560
  • Microsoft Teams (Education): Assignments improvements to support large file sizes and counts – Assignments will now support files sizes up to 500MB and more than 10 total attachments per assignment. Roadmap ID: 66564
  • Microsoft Teams (Education): Link thumbnail preview in Assignments – Thumbnail preview gives students a quick preview of a linked resource before clicking through to the material. Roadmap ID: 66565

  • Students and educators get a notification when a new Class Notebook page is distributed – Microsoft are making a new update that will allow any Educator using Page Distribution in the OneNote client to ensure that all students get a notification in Teams after a page is distributed.   • 👀 Microsoft Teams: Chat bubbles – Chats sent during a Teams meeting will surface on the screens of all meeting participants, making the chat more central to the conversation. Roadmap ID: 65948

  • Microsoft Teams: Call Merge – Call Merge gives end users the capability to merge their active unheld 1-1 call into another 1-1 call or another group call. This applies to Teams VOIP calls and PSTN calls. Roadmap ID: 66054
  • Multiple Number Dialing – Teams now supports dialing additional numbers for a given user. Roadmap ID: 66194
