  • Microsoft Viva: Create more than one Connections experience in the same tenant – This new capability enables customers to create multiple distinct Connections experiences and corresponding home sites within the same tenant.   • Microsoft Teams: Compact chat list – A new chat density setting will enable users to condense their chat list and have more chats visible on the screen.   • Microsoft Teams: Walkie Talkie Favorite Channels – Walkie Talkie, a push-to-talk experience that enables clear and secure voice communication over the cloud, enables teams to communicate instantly on a channel. Through this new functionality, users can now pin up to 5 favorite channels on the walkie talkie home screen, enabling users to quickly switch between these preselected channels to listen to incoming transmission or initiate PTT transmissions.   • Microsoft Teams: App suggestions by task in In-context Stores – Users think about which tasks they need to complete such as creating a survey inside Teams. Now, app suggestions will be organized by tasks the apps support as opposed to conventional categories (productivity, project management). As a result, the new categorization will reduce the amount of time users need to spend learning about these apps – helping them to work more effectively. The task-based app suggestions will be added to the Tabs, Messaging Extension, and Bots in-context Stores.   •  Microsoft Teams: Face enrollment on Teams Desktop to support recognition in Teams Rooms on Windows – To support face recognition in Teams Rooms on Windows, the desktop client offers enrollment to enable face recognition and video labels.  This feature is available for Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro license customers.  Admins will need to set Teams policies to enable the feature.  Find out more: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=&searchterms=133737
  • Microsoft 365 app: Key Document Updates – We will be introducing a feature on the Profile Card as a Highlight that tells users when key collaborators have taken some action on key documents when looking at their profile card. Each collaboration network is a cluster of people, text strings and Microsoft 365 items (key item: documents). The actions that you can see the users in this Collab Network take on these key documents are modify, comment, reply, mention, multiple modifications and shared to you.   • Microsoft Teams: Call delegation feature enhancements – Shared line appearance lets a user choose a delegate to answer or handle calls on their behalf. We are launching a simplified experience for users who have set up call delegation which will be available on the Teams desktop app and Teams phone devices. The new UI will allow delegates to easily switch between the different delegator lines they manage and view call history for the delegator’s line. Delegators will be able to view and join active calls handled by the delegate and grant delegates permission to join active calls.   • Microsoft Teams: Mixed grid view in meetings – Mixed grid eases the transition from video on to video off and places everybody in a 16:9 ratio. Users can also change their grid size by choosing one of the predefined options. As the new version of Gallery, this is the default view users will have upon joining meetings. Users can choose to go back to this view through the view switcher as desired. Available only in the new Microsoft Teams experience.   • 🆕 Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Ability to change retention period on labels set to start retention based on “When items were labeled” – Previously, admins could not change the retention period set on existing labels configured to start retention from when items were labeled. This feature will remove this restriction, and the resulting behavior will be consistent with other retention label types.   • Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Loss Prevention – Optical character recognition (OCR) support for endpoint – With this update, you will be able to detect and protect sensitive content in images and subsequently apply DLP policies to prevent the exfiltration of that sensitive data on your Windows endpoint devices.   • Microsoft Purview compliance portal:  eDiscovery (Premium) – Expanded support to search and export items in SharePoint and OneDrive for Business Recycle Bin – Traditionally, when a site is on hold, the files in the Recycle Bin would be stored in the Preservation Hold library. In cases when a site is not on hold, there is no way to search or export items in the Recycle Bin. The eDiscovery and SharePoint Online teams are making architectural changes that will make the Recycle Bin (both first stage and second stage Recycle Bins) in SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business searchable and exportable by eDiscovery Managers. That means organizations can search and export items in the Recycle Bin regardless of whether a site is on hold or not.   • Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Information Protection – Secure collaboration on labeled and encrypted documents with user-defined permissions (U.S. government clouds) – SharePoint and OneDrive can process labeled documents that are encrypted with custom permissions, also referred to as user-defined permissions. As a result, these documents can be searched, inspected for data loss prevention, and used with eDiscovery. They can also be opened, edited, seamlessly co-authored, and support AutoSave in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint apps on all platforms (includes Office for the web).   • Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Communication Compliance – Detect managerial harassment – By combining Communication Compliance classifiers with Azure Active Directory organizational hierarchy data, we are able to detect if offensive/inappropriate communications are occurring in a hierarchical imbalance.   Timing: Rollout to public preview will begin in the middle of September and end in October.  What you need to do to prepare: No action needed at this time.   Find out more: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=&searchterms=146742
