  • Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Information Protection – Optical character recognition (OCR) in Exchange Online and Teams DLP – Optical character recognition (OCR) support extracts text from images and will help discover and protect sensitive data in images being shared in Exchange Online (EXO), and Teams Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies. Roadmap ID:88860
  • Microsoft Information Protection: Microsoft Purview | Application of a “default label” to an unlabeled file uploaded to a SharePoint Online document library – With this update, all newly uploaded documents to a document library can “inherit” the configured label for the document library (if not already labeled). Roadmap ID:85621
  • Microsoft Defender for Office 365: Easier to sort and filter messages reported by users – It will be easier to sort and filter messages by end users on User reported under Submissions. Roadmap ID:100159
  • Microsoft Purview | Information Protection: Configure labels independently on files and emails – Admins can scope labels to apply to email or files independently. Configure label policy in the Microsoft Purview compliance portal to be applicable to emails only, files only, or both. Roadmap ID: 100711
  • Microsoft Purview | Information Protection: Configure inheritance of attachment labels to email messages – Configure label policies for email messages with attachments to inherit labels that match the highest classification of those attachments. Roadmap ID:100158
  • Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Lifecycle Management – Disposition review: Export of items pending review using a cmdlet – This change will enable admins to export the list of items pending disposition review or disposed items for a label using a PowerShell cmdlet without the 50,000-item limitation that applies to exporting via the UX. Roadmap ID:106102
  • Microsoft Purview compliance portal:  eDiscovery Premium – Collections progress, statistics, and workflow enhancements – Now eDiscovery admins can understand the progress of Collections, statistics on what content contributed to changes between estimated items with hits and actual collected items, as well as commit the collection directly from the estimate without navigating through the entire collection wizard. Roadmap ID:93380

  • Microsoft Defender for Office 365: Security Threat Submission API – The current InformationProtection/Threat Assessment API does not support setting up end user reporting experiences and triaging samples reported by a user.  The new Security Threat Submission API will address these scenarios and further improve existing capabilities. It was created using the Microsoft Graph Platform. The current API will continue to exist for several years to ensure existing processes are not affected, with eventual deprecation. Roadmap ID:93364
  • Microsoft 365 compliance center: Microsoft Purview | Communication Compliance – Empower end users to report inappropriate messages in Teams – Microsoft Teams users are empowered to report inappropriate or concerning messages within Teams chat and channels. These reported messages are then submitted to a Communication Compliance policy for investigators to review and take action if deemed necessary. Microsoft Purview Communication Compliance helps organizations detect explicit code of conduct and regulatory compliance violations, such as harassing or threatening language, sharing of adult content, and inappropriate sharing of sensitive information. Roadmap ID:88916
  • Microsoft Defender for Office 365: End user reporting for suspicious messages in Microsoft Teams  – End users will be able to report suspicious Microsoft Teams messages as a security threat just like they do for emails – to help the organization to protect itself from attacks via Microsoft Teams.  Roadmap ID:100160
  • Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Loss Prevention – DLP Policy tips revamp for Outlook for Windows – Expand the functionality of DLP Policy Tips in Outlook for Windows to support additional top predicates and exceptions for all customers, and also advanced classification for E5 customers. Roadmap ID:109589
  • Microsoft Defender for Office 365: Updates to quarantine folder storage – Microsoft Defender for Office 365 is making some changes to quarantine folder storage. The experience for users will remain the same and users can leverage the delete action to maintain the storage folder for their quarantined messages. Roadmap ID: 93302

  • Microsoft Purview compliance portal: eDiscovery (Premium) – Review set: Advanced filters – Updates to eDiscovery (Premium) review filters experience that allow admins to construct compound nested filters with either “AND” or “OR” conditions, go back and forth (undo/redo) between different iterations of filters, manage saved filter queries without navigating to a different panel, and use “Is empty/Is not empty” condition for each filter. Roadmap ID:124796

  • 🆕 Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Audit Custom Activities Search – The Audit Custom Activities Search enables customers to search for specific operations in the audit log. Instead of having to use PowerShell queries to search for a specific activity or select from the events in the Activities drop-down menu, admins can use the custom search bar to search for several audit log events directly.   • 🆕 Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Information Protection – Auto-labeling policy supports excluding locations (U.S. Government clouds) – Auto-labeling policy supports excluding specific locations in SharePoint, OneDrive, or Exchange. Roadmap ID: 124908

  • 🆕 Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Information Protection – Auto-labeling support OneDrive users and group scoping – Service side auto-labeling now supports scoping of OneDrive workload to OneDrive users and groups vs Site URLs. Existing policies configured with Site URLs will still work but can’t be edited to add more Site URLs. Existing policies can remove Site URLs from location to trigger the new OneDrive user and group picker. Roadmap ID: 124914
  • Microsoft Purview compliance portal: eDiscovery (Standard) to eDiscovery (Premium) case migration tool (U.S. Government clouds) – This feature release enables user to move their existing eDiscovery Standard case to eDiscovery Premium’s new case format. Existing search and hold inside the case will be maintained. After migration, user has the ability to continue their work in the migrated case following eDiscovery Premium’s workflow pipeline. Roadmap ID:109542

  • 🆕 Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Lifecycle Management – Support for static and adaptive policy scopes for auto-apply retention labels targeting SITs in Exchange – Auto-apply retention labels targeting sensitive information types in Exchange will now support static include/exclude and adaptive policy scopes. Previously admins could only target all Exchange mailboxes. Roadmap ID: 124920
