  • Microsoft Information Protection: Auto-labeling policies support overwriting manual label and encrypting mail received from any organization – New and existing Exchange auto-labeling policies can be configured to apply encryption to email received from outside the organization. • Microsoft 365 admin center: Servicing Profiles – A cloud-based solution that gives admins the ability to efficiently manage and automate how devices receive monthly updates directly from the Office CDN. Switching from semi-annual servicing cadence to monthly servicing cadence doesn’t have to mean doing more work, but instead to do them efficiently. Some of the capabilities which Servicing Profiles offers to the admins include, throttling the rollout to ensure new updates don’t break their network infrastructure. Ability to pause the rollout in case of issues and define exclusion windows to align better with their business and organization priorities. Ability to define deadlines to meet their security compliance goals and many more. Roadmap ID: 68932

đźš‚ ROLLING OUT

  • Microsoft Defender for Office 365: Quarantine support for shared mailboxes – Users who have been granted delegate access to shared mailbox either through direct access or security group access will be able to triage the quarantine folder items of those mailboxes. ⌛ IN DEVELOPMENT

Release – April 2022

  • 🆕 Microsoft 365 compliance center: Data loss prevention – Contextual policy conditions – Support to identify when a file is sensitive based upon the file type or extension. Extend your Endpoint DLP policy controls to detect and protect even more content types such as CAD drawing files, video and audio files, and custom file types used in your specific industry. Roadmap ID: 88981
  • 🆕 Microsoft 365 compliance center: Data loss prevention – Archived file support – Support the scanning for sensitive content in ZIP and ARJ archive files. Roadmap ID: 88982
  • Microsoft Defender for Office 365: Exchange Online Protection- Customizable Authenticated Received Chain (ARC) configuration – Email senders use authentication mechanisms like SPF, DKIM, DMARC to authenticate emails, but some legitimate intermediate services may potentially make changes to the email, which might cause the email to fail authentication at subsequent hop. Authenticated Received Chain (ARC) is an authentication mechanism that helps preserve authentication results across intermediaries. With this change, admins will be able to add trusted intermediaries in the Microsoft 365 Defender portal to allow Microsoft to honor these ARC signatures, thereby allowing legitimate messages. Roadmap ID: 85684
  • Microsoft 365 compliance center: Insider risk management – User activity reports – User activity reports allow you to examine activities for specific users for a defined time period without having to assign them temporarily or explicitly to an insider risk management policy. This is currently available in public preview. Insider Risk Management in Microsoft 365 correlates various signals from the chip to the cloud to identify potential malicious or inadvertent insider risks, such as IP theft, security and policy violations, and more. Feature ID:88491
  • Microsoft 365 compliance center: Endpoint data loss prevention (DLP) for macOS – Currently available in public preview, Endpoint DLP for macOS extends the activity monitoring and protection capabilities of DLP to sensitive items that are on macOS devices.  Once the Mac devices are onboarded into device management, the information about what users are doing with sensitive items is made visible in activity explorer and you can enforce protective actions on those items via DLP policies. Roadmap ID:88927
  • Microsoft 365 compliance center: Endpoint DLP – Advanced classification scanning and protection – Advanced classification scanning and protection allows the Microsoft 365 cloud-based data classification service to scan items, classify them, and return the results to the endpoint device. This enables admins to include more advanced classification techniques, such as exact data match and named entities, into data loss prevention policies. Admins will also have the flexibility to set a per-device bandwidth limit for a 24-hour period to regulate bandwidth usage. Roadmap ID: 88935
