  • Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Lifecycle Management – Cloud attachments support file versions shared as links – Previously, cloud attachments worked only for links shared using the attachments button in Outlook and Microsoft Teams. Now, cloud attachments will retain files shared as hyperlinks in the body of an email or Teams message. Roadmap ID:106098

  • Microsoft Purview Information Protection in Microsoft 365 Apps | Office Apps on the Web can create PDFs that inherit the source files sensitivity labels – PDFs created from Word, Excel, and PowerPoint will inherit their source files sensitivity labels in Office for the Web when the label is unencrypted. Roadmap ID: 117594

  • Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Lifecycle Management – Disposition review auto-approval (U.S. Government clouds) – Admins can enable automatic approval of items pending disposition if the reviewer doesn’t act within a specified number of days. Items will advance to the next stage of approval or auto-approved for deletion if in the final stage. Roadmap ID:124880
  • Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Lifecycle Management – Cloud attachments support for Viva Engage / Yammer messages – Previously, cloud attachments worked only for links and link attachments shared in Outlook and Microsoft Teams. Now, cloud attachments will also work with Yammer/Viva Engage user and community messages.Roadmap ID:117561
  • Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Lifecycle Management: Simulation mode for automatically applied retention labels (U.S. government clouds) – Records Management admins will be able to simulate the results of an auto-apply retention label policy. This feature allows admins to test the policy before deploying it in production. It will work with the Sensitive Information Type (SIT) and KQL properties policy types. Roadmap ID:109569

  • Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Information Protection – Configure labels independently on files and emails (U.S. Government clouds) – Admins can scope labels to apply to email or files independently.   • Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Information Protection – Keyword highlight support for document trainable classifiers – Highlight the keywords/phrases that contribute significantly to trainable classifier results, so that users can more easily understand the classification of the documents and use these insights to inform creation of DLP policies.   • Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Information Protection – New contextual predicates in service-side auto-labeling – This feature will support adding the following new contextual based predicates to auto-labeling: Document property is; File extension is; Document size equals or is greater than; Document created by (only available in advanced rules in OneDrive and SharePoint locations); Document name contains words or phrases.   • Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Lifecycle Management – Scope the administration of retention and retention label policies (U.S. government clouds) – Organizations can leverage Administrative Units in Azure Active Directory to define who can configure and manage policies in Microsoft Purview. This update will include the ability to set a Records Management admin for a specific geography, department, or other unit, who can manage retention and retention label policies for their unit.   • 🆕 Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Communication Compliance – Leverage advanced classification – Communication Compliance policies now support detection of inappropriate sharing of the following sensitive information types: named entities (full names/physical addresses/medical terms), credentials (login credentials/passwords), and exact data match. These new sensitive information types will be accessible to designated administrators during policy configuration. Roadmap ID:124898
  • 🆕 Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Insider Risk Management – Ability to assign alerts & cases to an owner – With this update, admins will be able to assign a case or alert to other admins, analysts, and investigators, making it easier for colleagues to know which alerts and cases are being worked on.   • Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Insider Risk Management – Activity explorer export limit increase (U.S. Government clouds) – The activity explorer’s export limit will increase from 10K to 100K records. This update will benefit organizations that prefer exporting user activity insights to a CSV file, as they now can filter, sort, or pivot a bigger data set more conveniently. Roadmap ID:124859
  • Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Loss Prevention – apply protection at the time of egress on endpoints – Extend protection to cold/unclassified files on endpoint devices by just-in-time protection at the time of egress. Roadmap ID:117493
  • Microsoft Purview | Audit: Granular scoping with role-based access control (RBAC) – IT departments in large organizations are built in a way that some of the day-to-day tasks are delegated to specific people or roles in the organization following the industry standard of least privilege access. Admins have a need to delegate role-based permissions to users or analysts in a granular way. In some cases, this delegation is based on function, and in other cases it is based on geography or scope of work.   • Microsoft Purview | Communication Compliance – Reduce detection to investigation time from 24 hours to 1 hour (U.S. Government clouds) – This feature will reduce the detection to investigation time to under an hour, allowing your organization to respond promptly to policy violations. The alert will be reviewed by a policy investigator, who is explicitly granted permission to review policy alerts by the Communication Compliance admin role. Roadmap ID:93324
  • Microsoft Purview | Communication Compliance: Recommended policy scope – Leverage policy scope insights to understand the aggregated volume of policy violations that are missed from users that are not currently scoped into the policy. Roadmap ID:93260
  • Microsoft Purview | Communication Compliance: Prioritize analysis of policy-driven alerts with Azure Cognitive Services (U.S. Government clouds) – Leveraging Azure Cognitive Services, messages already matching policy conditions will be categorized in “positive,” “negative,” or “neutral” sentiment, giving policy investigators more context to prioritize potentially riskier messages to address first.   • Microsoft Purview | Communication Compliance: Message details report – This new Communication Compliance report provides a comprehensive summary of all activities and actions that have occurred against a policy, such as date sent, date flagged, reviewed by, message reconciliation, etc. By providing visibility into policy review activity, this feature can help organizations fulfill regulatory compliance obligations and better track the status and progress for unresolved policy violations.   • Microsoft Purview | Communication Compliance: Gain context around ML model policy matches (U.S. Government clouds) – Make more informed remediation actions with machine learning (ML) model highlighting. Enhancements will be available to designated Communication Compliance admins and investigators with the appropriate role-based access control permissions, and include bulk policy exports, interactive how-to demos, and additional context around policy settings and keywords/conditions flagged in a policy.
