  • MC1225192 Entra ID Governance: Azure subscription required to continue using guest governance features – Starting January 30, 2026, Microsoft Entra ID Governance requires tenants to link an Azure subscription to use guest governance features. Without this, creating or updating guest-scoped policies will be blocked. Existing policies run, but new actions need subscription-linked billing under the Monthly Active User model. (30 Jan 2026)
  • MC1222981 SharePoint: Migrate the Maps web part to Azure Maps – The SharePoint Maps web part will migrate from Bing Maps to Azure Maps starting March 2026, completing by mid-April. Key changes include renaming, removal of business entity search, limited autosuggestions for some Asian languages, and removal of bird’s eye and street view. Admins should update allowlists and network settings. (28 Jan 2026)
  • MC1222977 Defender for Android: End of support for Android 10 devices – Microsoft Defender for Android will end support for Android 10 devices on March 31, 2026. After this date, these devices will no longer receive updates, security fixes, or support. Devices on Android 11 or later will remain fully supported. Organizations should identify and upgrade or replace Android 10 devices. (28 Jan 2026)
  • MC1222976 Email customization is now available in Site Lifecycle Management Policies – Email customization for Site Lifecycle Management policies is now generally available, allowing SharePoint admins to tailor notification emails to site owners. This feature applies worldwide and lets admins modify subject lines, message bodies, and guidance URLs without changing existing policy behavior. No action is needed if default emails suffice. (28 Jan 2026)
  • MC1222652 Outlook mobile: Users can open and send Outlook File Template (OFT) files – Outlook mobile will support opening and sending OFT files as draft messages, enabling template reuse. This feature rolls out globally from early February to early March 2026, is enabled by default, affects all mobile Outlook users, and requires no action to prepare. (27 Jan 2026)

  • Microsoft Teams: Front-of-room view control for Town Hall and Webinar in Teams Rooms on Windows – When a Teams Rooms on Windows is invited as a meeting presenter, the front-of-room display defaults to the attendee view. Presenters always have full control from the console, including green room and off-stage management, and can switch the front-of-room display to presenter view without impacting attendees.   • Microsoft Teams: Teams client health dashboards in Teams Admin Center – IT Administrators can view and monitor the health of Teams desktop clients on both Windows and Mac platforms. Administrators are equipped with detailed information on issues, insights, and mitigation tools to promptly and effectively address any potential client health problems.   • Microsoft Teams: Automatic removal of EXIF data from shared images – Teams will automatically remove hidden metadata (EXIF) from images shared in conversations. This privacy protection helps prevent sensitive information such as photo location and device details from being shared without your knowledge.   • Microsoft Teams: Network Device Interface (NDI) bandwidth increase – Microsoft Teams will soon increase the bandwidth when Network Device Interface (NDI) is used with Teams meetings, webinars, or town halls. When an NDI feed is subscribed within the meeting, the bandwidth will automatically increase without the need to pin or spotlight select users for prioritization.   • Microsoft Teams: Restart your Town hall event – Teams town hall producers can now restart a live event while the event is active in order to address technical issues that might arise during the execution of an instance.   • Microsoft Teams: Interpreter agent support in Teams rooms on Windows – The Interpreter agent acts as a translator in Microsoft Teams meetings, allowing participants to listen to the meeting in their chosen language with real-time translation so speaking different languages isn’t a barrier to effective understanding and collaboration.   • Microsoft Teams: Migration Tool for Teams – Customers will now be able to migrate content seamlessly from Slack public and private channels to Teams shared, public, and private channels. A new first-party migration tool in the Microsoft Admin Center (MAC) will allow admins to review which Slack channels they wish to migrate, then perform content migration to Teams. With this update, employees will be able to view skills directly on the profile card in Teams—making it easier to learn about colleagues, build meaningful connections, and manage their own skills profile right from within their everyday flow of work.   • Microsoft Teams: Brand Impersonation Protection for Teams Calling – Identify if an external user is impersonating a brand commonly targeted by phishing attacks, during their initial contact with an enterprise user via Teams calling.   • Microsoft Teams: Meeting Notes now available for instant meetings – Teams meeting Notes, powered by Loop, are now available for instant calls and meetings, like those started from ‘Meet now’ and calls started from chat. Notes are Loop components in Teams meetings and chats that allow end users to co-create and collaborate on their meeting agenda, notes, and action items that can be co-authored and edited by everyone. Since Notes are Loop components, they stay in sync across all the places they have been shared. Once added, meeting notes can also be shared and edited in the Loop app in your web browser.   • Microsoft Teams: Branded Meeting Reactions – With new branded reactions, organizations can now extend their visual identity directly into meetings.   • Microsoft Teams: Adaptive card-based app & copilot agent link unfurling in Teams – Discover and add SharePoint agents in chats and channels from in-context store. This will open the in-context store, where users can discover SharePoint agents and add them directly to the conversation and collaborate in the group.   • Microsoft Teams: Teams button on certified for Microsoft Teams personal peripheral devices one-click access to voice in Microsoft 365 Copilot within the Teams mobile app (iOS). – Now, you can connect your certified for Microsoft Teams personal Bluetooth device (such as your personal headset or earbuds) and with one press of the Teams button you can launch the Teams mobile app and invoke voice in Microsoft 365 Copilot within Teams. This feature eliminates the hassle of navigating menus on your mobile phone, giving you instant access to your personal AI assistant for quick conversational voice answers. This capability is initially available in iOS. Android and desktop client will be supported in a future release. With this new feature, content can be opened directly in Copilot Chat to make viewing documents more streamlined alongside chat. This change is not available on the Microsfot 365 Copilot mobile app or when using Copilot in Edge, Copilot in Excel, Copilot in Word, and Copilot PowerPoint.   • Microsoft Purview: Information Protection-Email attachment Preview in Activity Explorer – We’re enhancing Activity Explorer to provide greater visibility into sensitive data flagged in Exchange Online. With this update, admins will be able to preview email attachments directly within Activity Explorer—without needing to download the email.   • Microsoft Purview: Data Lifecycle Management-Auto-Archive for Exchange Online – A new capability called Auto-Archiving for Exchange Online will enter public preview in November 2025 (currently under private preview for selected customers). It ensures that data exploration respects organizational boundaries defined by Admin Units, enhancing compliance and governance.   • Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Insider Risk Management – User analytics – With this feature, insights will be generated for potentially risky behaviors at a user level and will be surfaced across the following experiences: 1) Insider risk management context in DLP alert investigation 2) Insider risk management context in Communication compliance alert investigation 3) Insider risk management context in Microsoft Defender XDR user entity page 4) Advanced hunting in Microsoft Defender XDR. User analytics will cover all eligible users in the tenant including users not in the scope of any Insider risk management policy. Customers can enable/disable user analytics in their tenant from Insider Risk Management settings. Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management correlates various signals to identify potential malicious or inadvertent insider risks, such as IP theft, data leakage, and security violations. Insider Risk Management enables customers to create policies to manage security and compliance. Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management correlates various signals to identify potential malicious or inadvertent insider risks, such as IP theft, data leakage, and security violations. Insider Risk Management enables customers to create policies based on their own internal policies, governance, and organizational requirements.
