• Microsoft Teams: Explicit recording and transcription consent for PSTN participants now available in GCC High and DoD – We are introducing explicit recording and transcription consent support for PSTN participants joining Microsoft Teams meetings in GCC High and DoD environments. This feature is already available in Public and GCC clouds and is now being extended to sovereign environments. After this rollout, when a meeting is being recorded or transcribed, PSTN participants will be prompted to provide explicit consent before they can unmute and participate. If consent is not provided, participants will remain muted for the duration of the meeting. This update aligns PSTN behavior with the existing consent experience in Teams clients and enhances compliance by ensuring all participants actively acknowledge recording and transcription. This rollout may impact PSTN users joining meetings where recording or transcription is enabled. • Microsoft Teams: New controls for quick views in the chat list – The new chats and channels experience introduced quick views at the top of the chat and channels list. These are views into mentions, followed threads and more. This update allows users to choose when and how these quick views are shown. Users will have options such as always show, always hide and show only when unread. • Microsoft Teams: Express voice enrollment in Microsoft Teams – Express voice enrollment makes registering your voice in Teams fast and easy. Your profile enables features like voice isolation, speaker recognition, identification in a meeting room and transcripts, and enhanced meeting recaps and insights from Microsoft 365 Copilot. • Endpoint Data Loss Prevention — Endpoint DLP now supports a pre curated list of file extensions for the file extension condition – Endpoint DLP now includes a pre curated list of file extensions for the file extension condition. Previously, file extensions were entered as free form text, which could result in unsupported or non-scannable extensions being used. This could lead to gaps in protection and increase processing overhead on endpoints. With the pre curated list, you can select only supported file extensions. • Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Insider Risk Management: Data Security Investigations integration – Launch a pre-scoped Data Security Investigation (DSI) from an IRM case. When a data security admin identifies a risky user who needs deeper investigation, they can launch a pre-scoped investigation directly from an IRM case, allowing them to view content analysis related to that user and better assess post-incident data impact. Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management correlates various signals to identify potential malicious or inadvertent insider risks, such as IP theft, data leakage, and security violations. Insider Risk Management enables customers to create policies based on their own internal policies, governance, and organizational requirements.
