- Microsoft Teams: Default enable transcription policy for new tenants for Teams meetings – We are updating the default policy for Transcription in Teams meetings from off to on for any new tenant. This change doesnt mean that every meeting will automatically have transcription enabled, but it will allow users to turn on transcription if needed. This update applies only to Teams meetings and does not affect transcription policies for calls. This adjustment aligns the default Transcription policy with that of Recording, supporting broader adoption of Transcription and all AI features. - Microsoft Teams: Together Mode New Flow – Together mode will get a new simplified flow which will take the user from the beginning to the end through the steps of setting up the scene, assigning the seats and applying for everyone in the call in a transparent and easy-to-understand way. The function itself does not change but there will be more transparency thanks to the icons on the meeting toolbar for an easy access for each next step in the familiar Together mode flow. - Microsoft Teams: Direct Routing Call Troubleshooting via SIP Ladder – We are launching the SIP Ladder diagram tool in Teams Admin center to enable admins to troubleshoot their Direct Routing calls in a self-serve way. This feature will be available via the Usage reports page under Teams Admin center. It will also enable admins to view the SIP requests, responses and associated SDP data between Microsoft teams proxy and the SBC through which the call was routed. - Microsoft Teams: Custom Meeting Branding – Support multiple meeting themes per customization policy – Admins can now create and assign multiple meeting themes to a customization policy in the Teams Admin Center. This will allow meeting organizers who are assigned to a customization policy the ability to select from different meeting theme options while scheduling their meetings. - 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Room recommender – If no room is booked for a meeting, this AI feature recommends rooms in the meeting chat an hour before start when two or more attendees are in the same building, making in-person collaboration easier. It considers location of participants, room availability, and capacity to find the best meeting space. You can reserve the suggested room with one click and update the invite for everyone. A Teams Premium license is required for the meeting organizer to enable this feature, which is available in Teams Mobile on iOS. - Microsoft Teams: Translated Intelligent meeting recap for multilingual meetings (Copilot and Teams Premium) – Now, intelligent meeting recap supports multilingual meetings, ensuring you can easily catch up on key discussions even when multiple languages were spoken. After the meeting, your recap is automatically generated in the translation language you selected for live transcription and captions. You can also change the translation language anytime from the drop-down menu on the recap page, allowing you to review the meeting in the language of your choice. - Microsoft Teams: Meeting organizers can enable transcription in multilingual meetings (Copilot and Teams Premium) – Were introducing a new organizer-level control that no longer requires all meetings to have one common spoken language to be set across all participants. Meeting organizers with Copilot or Teams Premium licenses will see a new control in meeting options called Enable multilingual speech recognition. When this is enabled before a meeting, each meeting participant will be able to set their own spoken language during the meeting, and the meeting transcript can accurately reflect each participants language of choice. - Microsoft Teams: Copilot in Teams meetings responses can be exported to Word and Excel – Now, certain responses from Copilot in Teams meetings will have an option to edit in Word or Excel. The edit in option for Word will be available for Copilot responses that are long (more than 1300 characters) and will automatically open a Word document with the response written. The edit in option for Excel will be available for Copilot responses that are formatted in a table, and will automatically open an Excel file with the formatted response added. Copilot responses can only be exported if the meeting policy for the meeting is set to allow copying or forwarding of meeting chat, live captions, transcript, and Copilot responses. The export capability will also inherit the sensitivity label of the meeting (sensitivity labels are available to Teams Premium users). - 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Add a presenter from the participant roster in a town hall or webinar – Organizers and presenters can quickly add a missing presenter to an ongoing town hall or webinar by calling them directly from the participant roster. Once the missing presenter accepts the call, they instantly join as a presenter, automatically joining the Green Room (if enabled) and added to the event group chat.
