  • Microsoft Defender for Office 365: Security Threat Submission API – The current InformationProtection/Threat Assessment API does not support setting up end user reporting experiences and triaging samples reported by a user.  The new Security Threat Submission API will address these scenarios and further improve existing capabilities. It was created using the Microsoft Graph Platform. The current API will continue to exist for several years to ensure existing processes are not affected, with eventual deprecation. Roadmap ID:93364

  • Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Audit (Standard and Premium) – New search (US Government clouds) – This is a new search for Audit (Standard) and Audit (Premium). This new search offers increased reliability and efficiency for search jobs. It also allows for search jobs to be completed in the background and saved for later reference. Roadmap ID:93237

  • 🆕 Microsoft Purview compliance portal: eDiscovery (Premium) – Review set: List page usability enhancements – Get a detailed view of all the jobs, collections and exports associated with a review set. Group and filter by columns such as date range to quickly take action on the review set of your interest. Roadmap ID:106104
  • Microsoft Purview | eDiscovery (Premium): Review set – Add notes to items – Support for adding customer notes to items within a review set. Roadmap ID:103623

  • 🆕 Microsoft Purview compliance portal: eDiscovery (Premium) – Collections options settings enhancements (U.S. Government clouds) – Now eDiscovery admins can define default collection settings, enable eDiscovery managers to customize those defaults for each case and collection, and for each collection the eDiscovery manager can choose from a range of options to ensure the right content is collected per the requirements of the case. These options will include collection of cloud attachments, Teams as conversations, partially indexed items, and more. Roadmap ID:109543
  • Microsoft Purview | Information Protection: Configure inheritance of attachment labels to email messages – Configure label policies for email messages with attachments to inherit labels that match the highest classification of those attachments. Roadmap ID:100158
  • Microsoft Defender for Office 365: Tenant Allow/Block List Limit per SKU – Today, customers can only create 500 block and 500 allow entries in sender, URL and file category in Tenant allow/block list. Going ahead, customers with MDO P2 or E5 security can create 5000 allows and 10000 blocks in Tenant allow/block list for sender, URL and file category. Spoof in Tenant allow/block list will remain unaffected by this change and all SKUs will have 1024 entries for both allows and blocks. Roadmap ID:98185
  • Microsoft Purview | Data loss prevention: Contextual evidence match for Endpoint DLP – With this update you will be able to see the matched sensitive information type and the context surrounding it (300 characters) as a result of a DLP policy match on your endpoint devices.   • Microsoft Purview compliance portal:  Data Loss Prevention – Document Fingerprinting support for additional workloads – Document Fingerprinting in Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention (DLP) converts a standard form into a sensitive information type (SIT), which you can use in the rules of your DLP policies. This update extends support for Fingerprint-based SITs to additional workloads, including SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Endpoint and enables admins to adjust threshold while creating Fingerprint SITs.   Roadmap ID:93280

  • Microsoft Purview compliance portal:  Data Lifecycle Management – Power Automate integration – Initiate a Power Automate workflow when the item reaches the end of its retention period. For example, execute a complex disposition approval process or move the file to an archive.  Roadmap ID:88816
  • Microsoft Defender for Office 365: Hourly option for notifications – We are adding a new hourly option to end user notifications, allowing users to be able to rely on prompt notification about quarantined items when appropriate. With this feature users can be rest assured that they will be updated frequently once new items lands on their quarantine folder. Roadmap ID:93304

  • 🆕 Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Loss Prevention – Extend DLP controls to Firefox browser – With this update, you will be able to extend the Microsoft Purview DLP controls to Firefox browsers. DLP admins will be able to set policies to prevent exfiltration of sensitive information through the Firefox browser by preventing actions such as copying data from a sensitive document to another document using the Clipboard, printing a sensitive document, copying to USB removeable media, or copying to a network share.   • 🆕 Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Loss Prevention – Enhancements to DLP capabilities on macOS endpoints – This update provides several DLP capabilities for macOS, including support for Bluetooth, ability to customize notifications, auto-quarantine, tamper protection, ability to create app groups and granular app restrictions policies, and support for Japanese language. These capabilities will be made available by enabling advanced classification on macOS endpoints. Roadmap ID:109585
  • Microsoft Purview compliance portal:  AIP client and scanner data surfaced in Content explorer – All files detected by the AIP_Onprem_scanner via the ‘Discover’ event will be showcased in the Content explorer under two new on-premises locations: File Share and SharePoint Server.  Roadmap ID:88529

  • 🆕 Microsoft Purview compliance portal: eDiscovery (Standard) to eDiscovery (Premium) case migration tool (U.S. Government clouds) – This feature release enables user to move their existing eDiscovery Standard case to eDiscovery Premium’s new case format. Existing search and hold inside the case will be maintained. After migration, user has the ability to continue their work in the migrated case following eDiscovery Premium’s workflow pipeline.   • Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Information Protection – Optical character recognition (OCR) in Exchange Online and Teams DLP – Optical character recognition (OCR) support extracts text from images and will help discover and protect sensitive data in images being shared in Exchange Online (EXO), and Teams Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies.   • 🆕 Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Information Protection – Secure collaboration on labeled and encrypted documents with user-defined permissions (U.S. government clouds) – SharePoint and OneDrive can process labeled documents that are encrypted with custom permissions, also referred to as user-defined permissions. As a result, these documents can be searched, inspected for data loss prevention, and used with eDiscovery. They can also be opened, edited, seamlessly co-authored, and support AutoSave in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint apps on all platforms (includes Office for the web). Roadmap ID:109570

  • Microsoft Purview | Communication Compliance Reduce detection to investigation time from 24 hours to 1 hour – This feature will reduce the detection to investigation time to under an hour, allowing your organization to respond promptly to policy violations. The alert will be reviewed by a policy investigator, who is explicitly granted permission to review policy alerts by the Communication Compliance admin role. Roadmap ID:88915
  • Microsoft Purview | Communication Compliance Gain context around ML model policy matches – Make more informed remediation actions with machine learning (ML) model highlighting.This feature gives investigators greater context around which word or key phrase triggered an ML model policy match and caused a classifier to catch a message.   • Microsoft Purview | Communication Compliance Prioritize analysis of policy-driven alerts with Azure Cognitive Services – Leveraging Azure Cognitive Services, messages already matching policy conditions will be categorized in “positive,” “negative,” or “neutral” sentiment, giving policy investigators more context to prioritize potentially riskier messages to address first.
