  • Microsoft 365 compliance center: Microsoft Purview | eDiscovery (Premium) – Jobs limit update (U.S. Government clouds) – The eDiscovery (Standard and Premium) jobs limit will be updated to provide users with better clarity on operational limit across the tenant. With simplified fewer jobs related limit, users will have better flexibility in managing these limits and how they are shared among different job types across the eDiscovery workflow. Roadmap ID: 93365
  • Microsoft Purview | Information Protection: Exact Data Match to support 10 primary (searchable or indexed) fields – Organizations will be able to configure Exact Data Match (EDM) Sensitive Information Types (SITs) to include up to 10 primary fields (current limit is 5), providing customers more flexibility in configuring EDM. Roadmap ID:98094

🚂 ROLLING OUT

  • Microsoft 365 compliance center | Microsoft Purview: eDiscovery (Premium) – Release of Graph APIs (U.S. Government clouds) – Script common eDiscovery actions using the Microsoft Graph REST APIs. APIs include, but are not limited to: Case, Custodian, Search, Review Set, and Export management. The graph APIs will first be released to the Microsoft Graph beta endpoints, and then ultimately to production in the More Information link below. APIs will show up in preview as they are completed and available in production after most common scenarios are completed. Roadmap ID:93348
  • Microsoft 365 compliance center: Microsoft Purview | DLP incident management in Microsoft Defender portal – This feature provides a singular view for incident management across solutions by making the Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention incidents available in the unified incidents queue in the Microsoft Defender portal. In addition, customers can also leverage the M365 Defender connector in Microsoft Sentinel to import all DLP incidents into Sentinel to extend correlation, detection, and investigation across additional Microsoft and non-Microsoft data sources and extend automated orchestration flows using Sentinels native SOAR capabilities. Roadmap ID:93322

  • Microsoft 365 compliance center: Microsoft Purview | Data loss prevention (DLP) support for trainable classifiers – Trainable classifiers can be added as a condition for data loss prevention (DLP) policies, and enhanced templates and default policies will leverage trainable classifiers. Additionally, classifier-related information and alerts will appear within Activity explorer. Roadmap ID:88937
  • Microsoft Defender for Office 365: ZAP (zero-hour auto purge) alert enhancements – We are enhancing the successful ZAP (zero-hour auto purge) alert and introducing a new ZAP failure alert.   Roadmap ID:93206

  • Microsoft Purview | eDiscovery (Premium): New role for review set tag management – We are introducing a new role called “Manage review set tags” which will allow the user to have granular permission on creating/editing/deleting of review set tags in eDiscovery (Premium) cases. Roadmap ID:100498
  • Microsoft Purview | Data Loss Prevention Auto-quarantine sensitive files accessed by unallowed apps (U.S. Government clouds) – This feature enables admins to eliminate multiple DLP alerts and notifications when an automated app or process tries to access or copy a file for which it is unallowed and quarantines the file to a configurable location.   • Microsoft Purview | Endpoint DLP App groups and granular app restriction policies (U.S. Government clouds) – This feature enables admins to define endpoint data loss prevention policies to lock specific apps for different activities and enables more granular restrictions for individual apps.   • Microsoft Purview | Data loss prevention (DLP) for Microsoft Teams data surfaced in Activity Explorer (U.S. Government clouds) – DLP-related data sets which currently flow into Microsoft 365 Audit logs (i.e., Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Teams DLP) will now also surface within Activity Explorer and will now be available for Teams DLP under an activity called ‘DLP rule matched’.   • Microsoft Defender for Office 365: Hourly option for notifications – We are adding a new hourly option to end user notifications, allowing users to be able to rely on prompt notification about quarantined items when appropriate. With this feature users can be rest assured that they will be updated frequently once new items lands on their quarantine folder. Roadmap ID:93304
  • Microsoft Purview | Communication Compliance: Analyze linked content from OneDrive and SharePoint Online – chats and private channels – Communication Compliance policies that detect violations in Microsoft Teams will now analyze the content of documents shared in chats and private channels for potential policy match. Microsoft Purview Communication Compliance provides the tools to help organizations detect regulatory compliance violations (e.g. SEC or FINRA), such as sensitive or confidential information, harassing or threatening language, and sharing of adult content.   • Microsoft 365 compliance center: Microsoft Purview |  Audit (Standard and Premium) – New search (US Government clouds) – This is a new search for Audit (Standard) and Audit (Premium). This new search offers increased reliability and efficiency for search jobs. It also allows for search jobs to be completed in the background and saved for later reference. Roadmap ID:93237

Release – January 2023

  • 🆕 Microsoft Purview | eDiscovery (Premium) Collections enhancement – Collect to Export – Now admins will be able to directly export a report or results of a Collection without adding to review set first. This will streamline processes for organizations who require ability to conduct analysis on item reports of relevant content and those who need to quickly get data from Microsoft 365 into the hands of audit or regulators.   • 🆕 Microsoft Purview | eDiscovery (Premium) Collections and Review – Query builder enhancements – Updates to eDiscovery (Premium) query builder experience to add functionality including NOT/OR conditions, grouping, and alignment between Collections and Review query building experiences. This enhancement will help build complex queries from scratch, validate them, and help to ensure correct content is being returned with the query inputs. Roadmap ID:100057
  • Microsoft 365 compliance center: Microsoft Purview | Data Lifecycle Management – Power Automate integration – Initiate a Power Automate workflow when the item reaches the end of its retention period.   • Microsoft Defender for Office 365: End user reporting for suspicious messages in Microsoft Teams  – End users will be able to report suspicious Microsoft Teams messages as a security threat just like they do for emails – to help the organization to protect itself from attacks via Microsoft Teams.  Roadmap ID:100160

  • Microsoft Purview | Information Protection: Extend sensitivity labels to assets in Azure – With Microsoft Purview, you can now extend the reach of your Information Protection sensitivity labels and the value from built-in sensitive information types to a much broader set of data locations and data types. Use existing sensitivity labels or create new sensitivity labels via the Microsoft Purview compliance portal to extend security and compliance intent to data assets in Azure.   Roadmap ID:85666
