  • Microsoft 365 compliance center: Advanced eDiscovery – Collections and processing enhancement – We’re enhancing the Advanced eDiscovery Collections and Processing experience with three core updates, including updates to embedded items handling, a new collection setting to include partially indexed items, and additional document metadata for SharePoint content.   • Microsoft 365 compliance center: Endpoint data loss prevention (DLP) for macOS – Currently available in public preview, Endpoint DLP for macOS extends the activity monitoring and protection capabilities of DLP to sensitive items that are on macOS devices. Once the Mac devices are onboarded into device management, the information about what users are doing with sensitive items is made visible in activity explorer and you can enforce protective actions on those items via DLP policies.   • Microsoft 365 compliance center: Endpoint DLP – Advanced classification scanning and protection – Advanced classification scanning and protection allows the Microsoft 365 cloud-based data classification service to scan items, classify them, and return the results to the endpoint device. This enables admins to include more advanced classification techniques, such as exact data match and named entities, into data loss prevention policies. Admins will also have the flexibility to set a per-device bandwidth limit for a 24-hour period to regulate bandwidth usage. Roadmap ID:88935
  • Microsoft 365 compliance center: Data loss prevention – Contextual policy conditions – Support to identify when a file is sensitive based upon the file type or extension. Extend your Endpoint DLP policy controls to detect and protect even more content types such as CAD drawing files, video and audio files, and custom file types used in your specific industry.   • Microsoft 365 compliance center: Data loss prevention – Archived file support – Support the scanning for sensitive content in ZIP and ARJ archive files. Roadmap ID:88982
  • Microsoft 365 compliance center: Endpoint data loss prevention – Classification globalization support (CCJK) – Microsoft Endpoint DLP will support content authored using double-byte character sets (including Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Japanese) in service workloads.   • Microsoft Defender for Office 365: Investigations triggered by manual actions – In order to provide the most accurate information in the Action center, we’re making a change that creates an investigation when manual actions are taken by admins. As we converge to the security.microsoft.com portal, this will ensure that all actions are shown in the converged action center. This Roadmap Item has been updated to align with new and updated timeline.   • Microsoft Information Protection: New named entities SITs and enhanced unified policy authoring templates – Named entities are sensitive information types (SITs) that can’t easily be identified by a regular expression or a function; these include person names, physical addresses, and medical terms & conditions. This update adds 52 new SITs representing named entities, and 10 enhanced policy templates that can be used in solutions such as DLP and auto-labeling, and cover important regulations, such as US HIPAA and EU GDPR.   • Microsoft Defender for Office 365: Differentiated protection for Priority accounts – We are introducing differentiated protection for Priority accounts, which will provide users tagged as Priority accounts with a higher level of protection. As part of this release, we are introducing a Context filter within Threat Explorer and the Threat Protection Status report through which you can search for emails where Priority account protection is involved. In addition, the Threat Detection Details tab on the Email Entity page will be updated to show the threats, corresponding detection details, and whether these detections were identified as part of Priority account protection.   • Microsoft Defender for Office 365: Updates to URL Protection Report – We’re making some updates to the URL protection report to make the report easier to use and give admins more insight. The action view will be updated to include four new action types, including Admin allowed, Admin block, pending scan, and Admin blocked with clickthrough. We’re also consolidating the application view to classify all Office apps (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote, Visio) as Office rather than individual products. Roadmap ID:88880
  • Microsoft Defender for Office 365: Mail latency report – we are making some enhancements to the existing Mail latency report in Defender for Office 365. The chart and filter options will be updated for more clarity. Roadmap ID:93213

Microsoft Purview Communication Compliance helps organizations detect explicit code of conduct and regulatory compliance violations, such as harassing or threatening language, sharing of adult content, and inappropriate sharing of sensitive information. Built with privacy by design, usernames are pseudonymized by default, role-based access controls are built in, investigators are explicitly opted in by an admin, and audit logs are in place to help ensure user-level privacy.
