  • Microsoft Teams: New Search experience in mobile app – When searching in the Teams mobile app, you will receive suggestions as you type. You will also be able to scroll to past and future dates in the calendar using a date picker. Roadmap ID:70755
  • Microsoft Teams: Microsoft Teams Connect – With Microsoft Teams Connect we are making it easier to collaborate with anyone outside your organization. You can use Team’s full suite of collaboration capabilities with external partners in other Azure AD orgs the same way you use them with colleagues from your organization.  Shared channels enables people from different orgs to work together as one team in a shared space for a more structured, deeper and longer-term collaboration.   • Microsoft Teams: New Lobby Setting: Only Invited Users join directly for GCC – A new lobby setting is coming to Teams Meeting Options. We are adding “People I Invite” as an option to the “Who can bypass lobby?” setting. Once enabled, only the participants invited by the organizer in meeting invite will be able to join the meeting directly. Everyone else will be sent to the lobby. Item has been delayed and is being rescheduled. Roadmap ID:86069
  • Microsoft Teams: Teams admin center- Enhancement to end-user call management – A new update to Teams admin center will extend the ability of an Admin to configure the call management capabilities for end-users. The existing call management capabilities of call delegation and group call pickup are being extended to also include the ability to manage an end-user’s call forwarding and simultaneous ringing settings as well.   • Microsoft Teams: Admins can pin message extensions – Admins can manage the pin order of messaging extensions in the compose experience. Roadmap ID:87506
  • Microsoft Teams: Live Captions for Anonymous (Guest) Users – Anonymous (Guest) Users are now able to view Live Captions in Teams Meetings on desktop. Roadmap ID:93049
  • Microsoft Teams: Day view in calendar on iOS and Android – View all meetings and events for the day to easily see when you’re available or busy. Roadmap ID:80106
  • Microsoft Teams: Power Automate templates to be added to teams templates – Team templates enable end users to create the right team with predefined channels and preinstalled apps. Select Microsoft provided team templates will include a new Power Automate tab. In the tab, you can find a variety of Power Automate flow templates that support the template type. Roadmap ID:81090

  • Microsoft Teams: Text prediction for Teams mobile – When you compose or reply to a message in Teams, Editor Text Predictions anticipates your writing and suggests a suitable word or phrase inline. This saves time and helps you reduce typos. Roadmap ID:81573
  • Microsoft Teams: LinkedIn Integration in Teams – Users will be able to see LinkedIn profiles of their colleagues in 1:1 chat. The LinkedIn profile is available via the LinkedIn tab in the 1:1 chat panel.  Roadmap ID:89132

  • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Suggested Replies on mobile for Government Clouds – Suggested replies in Teams chat uses assistive AI to create short responses based on the context of the previous message.   Roadmap ID:89137
  • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Mandatory Comments for Approvals App in Teams – Teams Admins and Approval Template creators can enable mandatory comments for when an approver responds to a request. Roadmap ID:92911
  • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Data Export within Approvals App – Through the approvals app you can now export your approval data within a selected time period. Roadmap ID:92925
  • Microsoft Teams: Pairing the channel and the corresponding SharePoint folder name – This feature has been updated to reflect new timing. When renaming a Teams’ channel, the corresponding SharePoint folder will be renamed and reflect the new name. This will help create consistency across Microsoft 365 endpoints, making it easier on users to find their files from anywhere.  This new feature will be available for all Standard and Private channels. For Standard channels – The corresponding folder in SharePoint will be renamed. For Private channels – The corresponding site name and the folder in SharePoint will be renamed. For legacy Teams channels that were renamed prior to this rollout, there will be no change in experience. When a legacy channel is renamed after this release, it will simultaneously rename the corresponding SharePoint folder. Roadmap ID:72211

  • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: View Together Mode for everyone – Meeting organizer and presenters will be able to start Together Mode in the meeting for all the participants. Roadmap ID:83658
  • Microsoft Teams: Career Coach – Student activity insights – Faculty and staff license holders will now be able to view insights for aggregated student activity insights in Career Coach. Insights include student skills, career interests, and progress on career-related activities in Career Coach. Item has been delayed and is being rescheduled. Roadmap ID:89921
  • Microsoft Teams: Device Test for virtual visits – Ability for users to test their device before a virtual visit. Roadmap ID:87715
  • Microsoft Teams: Embedded CART captioning support for Teams meetings for GCC-High and DOD – Teams meetings now support integration with real-time captioning providers and CART writers (Communication Access Real-Time Transcription) so that users who utilize CART captions can view the captions in the same window as their meeting. Item has been delayed and is being rescheduled.   • Microsoft Teams: New Tag Management Settings – This feature will update default tag management settings in the Teams Admin Center to include ”Team owners and members” and not just “Team owners.” You can still update this to only “Team owners” at the tenant level and override the default.  Roadmap ID:88318

Release – June 2022

  • Microsoft Teams: Call control with bluetooth headsets and speakerphones  –  Use device buttons to control call (answer, end, hold) from Bluetooth audio devices without needing a USB dongle when connected to a Windows PC running Teams desktop client. For many headsets and speakerphones, this will work without requiring any user action to enable other than pairing the headset or speakerphone with the PC. Watch our certification page for additional information coming soon about devices tested to meet all certification criteria with native Bluetooth connections (w/o a USB dongle).    Roadmap ID:84309
  • Microsoft Teams: Language Interpretation – Language interpretation will allow language interpreters to translate what the speaker says into another language in real time without disrupting the original flow of delivery of the speaker. This will allow more inclusive meetings, where participants who may not speak the same language can fully collaborate with each other. Roadmap ID:87547
  • Microsoft Teams: Chat with self – Users can send themselves notes, messages, files and images/videos; helping them stay organized. Roadmap ID:88066
  • Microsoft Teams: Speaker Coach in Microsoft Teams Meetings – Speaker Coach provides private, personalized feedback on your speaking and presentation skills in both real-time as well as post-meeting in a summary. Roadmap ID:88253
  • Microsoft Teams: Exchange Contacts available in Calling pickers – Exchange contacts with associated phone numbers will be available as part of the drop down selection in all Calling people pickers, such as the Dialer or call transfer, for customers that have PSTN enabled.  Roadmap ID:93050
  • Microsoft Teams: Calendar Show As in meetings – Organizers of a Teams meeting and participants will be able to choose a Calendar Show As status feature such as free, busy or OOF to reflect their status for the scheduled meeting. In addition, organizers will also be able to select private meeting functionality which will allow users to hide meeting details from other users when their calendar is shared.  Roadmap ID:93145

Release – July 2022

  • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Live Transcript for Teams Meetings for GCC-High – Teams Meetings now have a real-time transcript during their meetings as well as a post-meeting transcript. This will help users in real-time recall what has been spoken during the meeting as well as review the meeting after the fact. Roadmap ID:82230
  • Microsoft Teams: Chat Bubbles during Teams meetings for Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android – Ability to view chats sent during a Teams meeting on the front of room display in a Teams Room, calling attention to the chat conversation happening alongside the meeting. Roadmap ID:85441
