  • Microsoft Teams: Walkie Talkie on Teams phones – Like traditional walkie talkies, the Walkie Talkie app on your Teams phones provides an instant push-to-talk (PTT) communication for your team. It allows you to press and hold a button to speak to your team, and release the button to listen. Users can connect with their team using the Teams channels. Roadmap ID:83653
  • Microsoft Teams: Tags are available in DOD – Tags are available in DoD. Tags in Teams let users quickly reach a group of people without having to @mention or type out everyone.  Roadmap ID:81096
  • Microsoft Teams: Updated Cortana iconography on front of room display and console in a Microsoft Teams Room – Update to the Cortana iconography that appears on the front of room display and console UI in a Microsoft Teams Room.   Roadmap ID:89102
  • Microsoft Teams: Education policy wizard – Multiple group support – Admins can now add up-to three groups, instead of one previously, of educators and staff for applying the specialized custom set of policies.  Roadmap ID:90510
  • Microsoft Teams: Music Mode for Teams – In music mode, we support up to 32 kHz sampling rate mono audio at 128 kbps, and optimize our internal audio processing settings for reproducing music with high fidelity. Teams will automatically adjust the audio bitrate based on the available bandwidth, going down to 48 kbps while still delivering good music quality. We also provide users the option to turn off components such as echo cancellation, noise suppression, and gain control if needed. Roadmap ID:83520
  • Microsoft Teams: Fluid components in Teams chat – Fluid components in Teams chat allow end users to send a message with a table, action items or a list that can be co-authored and edited by everyone in line. The date for GCC will be published shortly.  Roadmap ID:82779

  • Microsoft Teams: End-to-end encryption for one-to-one Teams calls for GCCH and DoD – End-to-end encryption is the encryption of information at its origin and decryption at its intended destination without the ability for intermediate nodes to decrypt. End-to-end encryption would be an optional mode of real-time media collaboration where one-to-one Teams calls between two parties would be end-to-end encrypted. Roadmap ID:89249
  • Microsoft Teams: Pinned apps for frontline workers – We are providing a tailored experience for frontline workers in Teams! With this feature users with an F license will get frontline worker apps such as Tasks, Shifts, Walkie Talkie and Approvals pinned out of the box. Organizations can further configure the apps pinned, but this feature provides a foundation for a Teams environment purpose-built for frontline workers.    Roadmap ID:89924
  • Microsoft Teams: Walkie Talkie on iOS in GCC – Walkie Talkie, a push-to-talk experience that enables clear and secure voice communication over the cloud, enables teams to communicate instantly and always stay on the same page. This native built-in app in Teams turns employee or company-owned iOS smartphones and tablets into a walkie-talkie, reducing the number of devices employees must carry and lowering costs for IT.   • Microsoft Teams: Share specific parts of the App to meeting stage – We have introduced new API’s within the Teams Client SDK that will provide developers the ability to share specific content within their app to the meeting stage from the app side panel experience. Roadmap ID:87799
  • Microsoft Teams: 1:1 VOIP and PSTN Call Recording and Transcription In Call App V2 – 1:1 VOIP and PSTN Call Recording and Transcription will now show in the Calls App, in the “call details” panel.  This feature permits users to view call recordings and transcriptions for both PSTN and VoIP calls.  Users have the option to delete call recordings, removing them from the call history in “call details” panel. If there are multiple recordings of a call, each call recording will appear in a list in call history, in the “call details” panel.  Roadmap ID:83497

  • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Casting from Teams desktop client to Microsoft Teams Rooms – For quick ad-hoc sessions that don’t require setting up a formal meeting, people can use Teams casting to wirelessly connect to a Teams Room and display content from the Teams desktop client (Windows and Mac). Users can broadcast their screen and cast content stored locally on their computer or accessible via Office 365. Roadmap ID:88027
  • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Inline video helper for policy attributes in TAC – Admins will have an option to quickly play a simple video/gif available for a policy attribute to understand the impact of policy control on end user experience and decide whether to enable it or disable it for the users in their org.   Roadmap ID:90704
  • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Bulk removal for individual policy assignments – Admins can cleanup individual policy assignments from users in bulk, so that those users can inherit the correct policy either via a group policy assignment or global org-wide default.  Roadmap ID:90705
  • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Policy operations details in enhanced activity log – Admins can see group policy assignments in activity log along with other policy operations. Activity log has now enhanced details regarding a policy operation to give admins more visibility.  Roadmap ID:90712
  • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Large Gallery for Teams on VDI in Government Clouds – By default, Teams Meetings supports up to 9 videos in Gallery. Now, using Large Gallery, users can view up to 49 videos at once in meetings on virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI).  Roadmap ID:93000
  • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Together Mode for Teams on VDI in Government Clouds – Together Mode lets you see all your colleagues against a shared background, making you feel like you are all ‘together’ in a virtual online room.   • Microsoft Teams: Message extension entry point for Workflows in Teams – Chat/Channel/Teams based workflows are a powerful tool for collaboration and efficiency.   • Microsoft Teams: Embedded CART captioning support for Teams meetings for GCC-High and DOD – Teams meetings now support integration with real-time captioning providers and CART writers (Communication Access Real-Time Transcription) so that users who utilize CART captions can view the captions in the same window as their meeting.  Roadmap ID:83614
  • Microsoft Teams: Pairing the channel and the corresponding SharePoint folder name. – This feature has been updated to reflect new timing. When renaming a Teams’ channel, the corresponding SharePoint folder will be renamed and reflect the new name. This will help create consistency across Microsoft 365 endpoints, making it easier on users to find their files from anywhere.  This new feature will be available for all Standard and Private channels. For Standard channels – The corresponding folder in SharePoint will be renamed. For Private channels – The corresponding site name and the folder in SharePoint will be renamed. For legacy Teams channels that were renamed prior to this rollout, there will be no change in experience. When a legacy channel is renamed after this release, it will simultaneously rename the corresponding SharePoint folder.  This feature has been updated to reflect new timing. Roadmap ID:72211

  • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Loop components in Teams chat for GCC – Loop components in Teams chat allow end users to send a message with a table, action items or a list that can be co-authored and edited by everyone in line.  Roadmap ID:93163
  • Microsoft Teams: Voice enabled channels in government clouds – We added the ability to use a Teams channel with members as call agents for call queue call answering.  Now we are bringing this capability to government clouds.    Roadmap ID:80117
  • Microsoft Teams: Dynamic Caller ID for Voice enabled channels, now available for Government clouds – Last year we enabled the capability where agents can use Dynamic Caller ID to call on behalf of a Call Queue from within Voice Enabled Channels.  We are now bringing this capability to Government clouds including GCCH and DOD.    Roadmap ID:89290
  • Microsoft Teams: Approvals PCF controls for Power Apps – Developers are able to plug in Approvals PCF controls when creating a new Power App. Roadmap ID:89105
  • Microsoft Teams: Dynamic Emergency Calling for Work From Home for VDI – VMware – This feature enables users on VMware on Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) to make an emergency call while working from home. It will allow users to validate (and if necessary, edit) the address that will be communicated to emergency responders. This feature has been delayed to incorporate initial feedback.  Roadmap ID:86858
  • Microsoft Teams: Support of Live Caption for Teams on VDI for Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365 – Teams users on Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365 on virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) will be able to use live captions. Live captions display the text version of the audio during the call. Item has been delayed and is being rescheduled.  Roadmap ID:85693
  • Microsoft Teams: Support of Live Caption for Teams on VDI for VMware – Teams users on virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) will be able to use live captions. Live captions display the text version of the audio during the call. Roadmap ID:86070
  • Microsoft Teams: New Lobby Setting: Only Invited Users join directly for GCC – A new lobby setting is coming to Teams Meeting Options. We are adding “People I Invite” as an option to the “Who can bypass lobby?” setting. Once enabled, only the participants invited by the organizer in meeting invite will be able to join the meeting directly. Everyone else will be sent to the lobby. Item has been delayed and is being rescheduled  Roadmap ID:86069

Release – June 2022

  • Microsoft Teams: Live Captions in all available languages on Teams Meetings on Web – Live Captions in all available languages are now available for web users of Teams Meetings. Roadmap ID:84001
