  • Microsoft Teams: Teams Meeting Audit Events in GCC – Teams Audit Events for Meetings, including MeetingDetail and MeetingParticipantDetail, will soon be available in GCC. This enhancement will provide administrators with comprehensive insights into meeting activities, helping to ensure compliance and improve operational efficiency. MeetingDetail: Captures detailed information about meetings, including start and end times, meeting subject, and organizer details. MeetingParticipantDetail: Logs participant information, including join and leave times, participant roles, and any changes in participant status during the meeting. Audit logs are accessible through the Microsoft Purview portal, where administrators can search, filter, and export audit data for detailed analysis. These logs are essential for maintaining compliance, investigating incidents, and ensuring the security of Teams activities.     • Microsoft Teams: Compact Notification Size – Users will now have the ability to change the size of Teams notifications.     • Microsoft Teams: Inclusive meeting enhancements for sign language users – Sign language users will benefit from an enhanced meeting experience. Interpreters will be clearly identified in the participant roster and visually distinguished throughout meetings. Deaf and hard-of-hearing participants who use sign language will be automatically detected and elevated to active speaker status, ensuring equal prominence with spoken audio participants.     • Microsoft Teams: Countdown Timer for Teams Meetings – Manage time and streamline meeting discussions with the new countdown timer for Teams meetings, a tool designed to keep meetings efficient and on schedule. Any user can easily add a timer of any duration to the meeting (up to 100 minutes), which will appear in the meeting window for all participants with controls to start, stop, pause, and add more time.     • Microsoft Teams: Custom Dictionary – Tenant administrators can now upload a Custom Dictionary through the M365 Admin Portal’s Copilot Settings page to include tenant-specific terminologies. This enhancement improves entity recognition in Teams meeting transcripts, benefiting both Recap and Copilot’s understanding of the content.     • Microsoft Teams: Townhall concurrent attendees increase to 100,000 – Organizers of town hall instances can now reach wider audience in a single event with an expansion to a maximum of 100,000 simultaneous attendees. This increase serves as a significant jump from the previous attendee cap of 50,000 for organizers with a Teams Premium license. The quality and stability of town halls up to this new limit will remain constant, providing high-quality and reliable content to participants. For events with more than 20,000 concurrent attendees, some interactivity features are disabled for all attendees. Organizations can get support for audiences up to 100,000 concurrent attendees by selecting the Max Capacity limit to be as high as desired up to 100,000. Reaching out to the Microsoft 365 Live Event Assistance Program (LEAP) for assistance (Microsoft 365 Live Event Assistance Program – Microsoft Adoption) is recommended for every event.         • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Preview of multiple camera view in Teams Rooms on Windows – When multiple camera views are enabled in Teams Rooms on Windows, the preview video on the front-of-room display and the camera settings dialog will show multiple camera views. This feature allows in-room users to be aware of all camera streams that are simultaneously streaming to remote users. This feature is available with the Teams Rooms Pro license.             • Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365) Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat general availability for GCC – Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat Copilot is available at no additional cost for Microsoft 365 GCC users who sign in with their Microsoft Entra account (no Microsoft 365 Copilot license required). Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat offers enterprise data protection (EDP), and secure AI chat designed for work, powered by the latest large language models with optional web grounding. The general availability of this release will be delivered to the users with web grounding OFF by default to meet US Government requirements. The report will be scoped to include agents in M365 Copilot and Copilot Chat with usage by both M365 Copilot licensed and unlicensed users. The report will include total active agent users, total active agents, active users segmentation by licensed and unlicensed users, and active users and active agents segmentation by publisher type (i.e. user-created agents, agents built by your org, agents built by Microsoft, agents built by Microsoft partners). This release will make the coverage of file types on endpoint consistent with other locations such as Exchange, SharePoint and OneDrive. We are also rolling out advanced indexing enhancements, along with a tenant-level premium feature toggle to provide greater administrative control. Endpoint DLP will continue to monitor and enforce access control and label-based protection on these files even in unencrypted state and automatically encrypt them before theyre transferred outside from a users device.                       •  Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Security Investigations – Microsoft Purview Data Security Investigations empowers data security teams to find and mitigate data risk from sensitive data exposure using generative AI-powered deep content analysis enriched with activity signals.                       • Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Information Protection – SharePoint Online extends library permissions to downloaded files. – This new capability ties together SharePoint Online library permissions with Purview sensitivity labeling and protection. SharePoint Online document library owners can set a label on the library, automatically applying that label to all unprotected and unlabeled Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF files at rest in the target library. This simplifies labeling in bulk across document libraries in an organization. This capability also helps protect files as they egress from the original document library, such as for collaboration purposes or attempted exfiltration. Files downloaded from these libraries are protected at download. Users accessing these files outside of SharePoint Online have their rights evaluated in real time against the online copy of the document. Changes to user permissions on the online copy of the document are reflected on downloaded copy, including full access removal. This provides a more streamlined way to revoke access to documents for individual users, versus revoking access on a per-document basis. IRM alerts will be surfaced in unified alert and Incident queue in Microsoft Defender XDR. 2. IRM alerts, Indicators, and enriched events will be available in Microsoft Defender XDR advanced hunting. Analysts can leverage KQL queries to identify potentially hidden risky patterns in data security related user activity. 3. IRM alert, Indicators, and enriched events will be exposed through Graph API. This feature can be enabled through “Share data with Microsoft Defender XDR within Microsoft Insider Risk Management settings. To ensure privacy of the data, all IRM data in Microsoft Defender XDR can only be accessed by users with Insider risk analyst or Insider risk investigator permissions in Purview. Existing analysts accessing IRM data in purview will continue to access IRM data in Microsoft Defender XDR. IRM data in Microsoft Defender XDR does not honor anonymization. This is to enable effective correlation of IRM alerts with alerts from other solutions in Microsoft Defender XDR platform (such as Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Cloud apps, etc.). Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management correlates various signals to identify potential malicious or inadvertent insider risks, such as IP theft, data leakage, and security violations. Insider Risk Management enables customers to create policies based on their own internal policies, governance, and organizational requirements.
