  • SharePoint: Approvals integration in Document Libraries – SharePoint Document Libraries will begin to leverage the Approvals app in Microsoft Teams. Users will be able to navigate to the Automate dropdown, Configure Approvals to enable the feature on the library. Once enabled you can specify the approver for the file, submit a request which will appear in the Approvals app in Teams or can be approved directly in the library. This feature empowers users to create high-quality, on-brand pages effortlessly, enhancing productivity while ensuring consistency and visual appeal across SharePoint sites.   •  🆕 SharePoint: New File Format Support for Document Translation – We’re expanding file format support for Content AI Document Translation in SharePoint Online. Newly added extensions include: xlf, tsv, tab, mdown, mdtext, mdtxt, mdwn, mht, mhtml, mkd, mkdn, odt, rmd. This update brings us in alignment with Azure Document Translation capabilities and unlocks new scenarios, such as .xlf support, which enables seamless translation of eLearning and localization content exported from many industry tools.   •  Microsoft Teams:  Simplified Notes pane in meetings – Were updating the Notes pane in meetings to streamline the design and make key controls more clear. First, were renaming the header from Meeting notes to Notes to match the panes name in the meeting toolbar.  Second, the file-level controls like Open in new window and Copy component are combined into a single header at the top for simplicity.   • Microsoft Teams: End the Session for Attendees and Presenters Return to Green Room – Organizers and presenters can now end the session with this new “End Event” button for town halls, webinars, and structured meetings. After selecting this button, attendees will see a message on stage stating that the session has concluded, and presenters will return to the Green Room.   • Microsoft Teams: Cross Cloud collaboration in VDI – VDI users can join meetings with people in other Microsoft 365 cloud environments (e.g., a user in GCCH joining a meeting in commercial, GCC or DOD) through three options: authenticated access via cross-cloud meeting connection, authenticated access using a guest account, or anonymous access. These scenarios require Slimcore-based optimization, as WebRTC-based optimization does not support meetings across different cloud environments.   • Microsoft Teams: Updates to Gallery View in Teams Rooms on Windows – The updated Gallery View in Teams Rooms on Windows arranges all participants in consistent tile sizes, prioritizes video on the meeting stage, offers additional layout options, optimizes for single and dual displays, and provides a unified meeting experience across both Teams Rooms and desktop.   • Microsoft Teams: Microsoft Purview supports inheriting sensitivity labels from shared files to Teams meetings (Premium) – For Microsoft 365 E5 and Teams Premium customers, we are making it easier to leverage sensitivity labels from Microsoft Purview Information Protection to help set the right protection settings to meetings. Admins can now set a label inheritance policy for meeting, so that when an attendee shares a file that has a higher sensitivity than the meeting itself in meeting chat or via Live share, the meeting’s sensitivity can be updated either automatically or via a recommendation to the organizer, to match with the sensitivity of the shared file.   • Microsoft Teams: Pop-out live captions and Real-time-Text (RTT) in meetings – When you are in meetings or calls, you will be able to pop out, drag, and resize live captions (including live translated captions), and real-time-text (RTT) from the main meeting window. This enables you to position the captions and RTT wherever you prefer on your screen, so you can easily focus on the meeting while viewing the incoming text in a position most comfortable for you.   • Microsoft Teams: Real-Time Text in Teams Meetings and Calls – Real-time Text (RTT) is a fast, accessible, and immediate communication method that transmits text character by character as it is typed. It is particularly valuable in various calling and meeting scenarios where it enables deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals, neurodiverse users, and those with speech-related disabilities to engage in real-time conversations through text.   • Microsoft Teams: Open file links preference to extend across M365 apps – When it comes to how links to cloud-hosted Word, Excel, or PowerPoint files should open, you may prefer they open in a browser, desktop apps, or directly in Teams. Now, your Teams file open preference will extend to across Microsoft 365 apps starting with classic Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. This makes the open file experience consistent on your Windows PC/device. If you prefer, you will still be able to choose your Teams file open preference separately.   • Microsoft Teams: Auto detection of room audio in BYOD rooms expanded to audio devices with video – The room audio auto-detect and pre-select feature for BYOD rooms that was released in October 2024 now activates the video component of composite audio-video peripherals as the selected camera in Teams.   •  🆕 Microsoft Teams: Teams Town hall screen management privileges in Teams Rooms on Windows – When the Teams Room on Windows is a co-organizer or a presenter in a town hall, privileges can be granted to start or end the event, manage what attendees see, and promote attendees as presenters, ensuring a smoother and more organized event experience.   • 🆕 Microsoft Teams:  Interactive Agents for Teams Meetings and Calls – Introducing a new feature that brings interactive agents into your Teams meetings and 1-on-1 calls. Engage with agents as a group or privately, with zero state prompts and history support for seamless interactions. Currently, only agents built on Copilot support sessions, meaning they can remember the context of previous interactions within the same session for more relevant responses. Custom agents do not yet have session support. All agents from BizChat/Copilot Studio are now available for use in your meetings and calls. This feature allows secure testing and iteration, inviting colleagues for feedback without affecting sensitive data or production channels.   • Microsoft Teams: Block a user for your organization in GCC-High and DoD – With the availability of the delete API (removeallaccessforuser API), it does not stop the malicious user from resending the message to the same victim. To help prevent that, a block user API will allow the admin to block the malicious user from reaching out again. To make this even more effective, we will utilize a similar feature as the allow/block list in federation to block the malicious user from the entire organization.   • Microsoft Teams: Call quality reports for BYOD rooms in the Pro Management portal – As with Microsoft Teams Rooms, admins can now access detailed call quality reports for BYOD rooms with associated peripherals in the Pro Management portal. These reports include call history and session details that help diagnose network, audio, and video issues. Reports in the Pro Management portal requires a Teams Shared Devices license for the room.   • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: DoD support in Teams Rooms Pro Management  – Department of Defense (DoD) customer tenants now have access to the Teams Rooms Pro Management service and portal, enabling them to use the remote device management and analytics features of the solution while meeting high security and privacy standards.   • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: share file in chat with external users – Collaborating with users outside your organization has become more streamlined. You can now share files with external users in both 1:1 and group chats. When sending a file, you have the option to either change its permissions or retain the existing ones.   • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Enhanced Meeting Protection – Prevent Screen Capture – To address the issue of unauthorized screen captures during meetings, the Prevent Screen Capture feature ensures that if a user attempts to take a screen capture, the meeting window will turn black, thereby protecting sensitive information. This feature will be available on Teams desktop applications (both Windows and Mac) and Teams mobile applications (both iOS and Android). For users joining from unsupported platforms, they will be placed in audio-only mode to maintain the integrity of the meeting’s content.   • Microsoft Teams: Migration Tool for Teams – Customers will now be able to move content seamlessly from public and private channels in a third-party solution to Teams standard channels.   • Microsoft Teams: Real-time notifications (Live Activities) for Teams meetings on iOS lock screen – iOS Live Activities integration for Teams meetings on mobile allows users to view the live progress of a meeting at-a-glance from their lock screen. Real-time notifications with Live Activities automatically update in real-time so users can see when the meeting has started, when its in progress, whether recording is on, when someone needs to be admitted from the lobby, and when the meeting has ended. This feature allows you to set an open password, which is required to access the PDF, or an owner password, which sets permissions for actions such as printing or editing the document.   • OneDrive: Prompt to Add Personal Account to OneDrive Sync – This feature enables the OneDrive Sync client on Windows to detect known Microsoft personal accounts associated with business devices and prompt users to sync their personal OneDrive files. If the user accepts the prompt, their personal files will begin syncing alongside their work files. No action is required to enable this behavior by default. Simply type your prompt, and Copilot will generate a bespoke script, source high-quality stock footage, and assemble a video project complete with music, voiceover, text overlays, and transitions. This provides you with a first draft, which you can edit in the Clipchamp app. You can then export the video to mp4, which will be saved in OneDrive and count towards your OneDrive quota, ready for sharing. Admins can now set a label inheritance policy for meeting, so that when an attendee shares a file that has a higher sensitivity than the meeting itself in meeting chat or via Live share, the meeting’s sensitivity can be updated either automatically or via a recommendation to the organizer, to match with the sensitivity of the shared file. DLP admins can get these insights on all the policies or on few selected policies. They will be able to use prompts to gain a deeper view of how a policy is configured for their digital landscape.   • Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Enhancements to global exclusions in IRM settings – In this update, we are making the below enhancements to IRM exclusions to reduce alert noise. 1. Keyword logic update for email – An email will be excluded from scoring only when all the attachments match the keyword exclusions or email subject matches the keyword exclusions. This will be helpful to reduce the email signature noise which commonly contains keyword “image”. 2. Keyword exclusions on both target and source file paths – For signals like file copied to removable media, keyword exclusions apply on both target and source file paths. 3. File path exclusions for removable media – We will start supporting file path exclusions for removable media. 4. Exclusion support for browser – Domain exclusions are now supported for browsing indicators.   •  🆕 Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Loss Prevention – Detection of True file type in EXO DLP – Traditionally, Exchange has relied solely on the file extension (e.g., .docx, .pdf) to identify the type of an attachment. However, this approach can be bypassed if a file is renamed with a misleading extension. To address this, were enhancing our detection logic to go beyond just the visible file extension. With this update, even if a files extension is altered, Exchange will evaluate the actual content of the file to determine its true type. This ensures that policies based on file type such as File extension remain effective and secure, even in cases of renamed or disguised attachments. This improvement provides customers with a more robust and reliable way to enforce compliance and security rules around file sharing.
