- Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365): Copilot inference and evaluation policy for Copilot in Teams meetings – This policy enables IT admins to block Copilot responses that might infer emotions, make evaluations, discuss personal traits, and use context to deduce answers. When this setting is applied it restricts copilot’s ability to make inferences or evaluations about people or groups when prompted to do so by users. Users cannot disable this setting. - Microsoft Teams: Improved People Search – You can now search for content related to specific people. - Microsoft Teams: New expanded gallery view option for minimized meeting window – When meeting window is minimized, participants can enlarge the small view of Teams meeting to a new bigger gallery view, making it easier to multitask on screen and stay aware of meeting events. Users can choose the size of the minimized gallery view window from the following options: one participant visible in the minimized window, 4 participants visible in the minimized window, fully minimized, or fully expanded. - Microsoft Teams: See multiple participants and shared content preview in improved presenter window when screen sharing – When sharing the screen or content, the presenter will now be able to better keep track of the participants’ activity during a meeting. The Improved Presenter Window shows up to four meeting participants (both video and audio), who are active speakers and who raised hands, as well as a preview of the content being shared. Meeting notifications appear in the middle of the screen for better visibility. This gives presenters increased confidence and awareness of what is happening among participants during a meeting. - 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Third-Party chat and meeting keyboard shortcut support – Users familiar with keyboard shortcuts used in 3rd party applications chat and meeting applications can utilize the same shortcuts in Teams. To do this, access the keyboard shortcuts dialog from the Settings and more button in the upper right, and select a communication or meeting layout. This enables users to apply the shortcuts they are accustomed to from 3rd party chat and meeting applications. - 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Only meeting organizers, co-organizers, and transcript initiator can change spoken language setting – We’re changing the default permissions for who can set the spoken language for a meeting. Now, when transcription is enabled (whether by itself or when recording or Copilot are enabled) only the meeting organizer, co-organizer, and person who initiated the transcript can change the spoken language for the meeting. This is to ensure accurate transcription of everyone’s speech during the meeting since the spoken language setting and the spoken language used during discussion must match for transcript accuracy. If transcription is not enabled, all meeting participants will be able to change the meeting spoken language. - 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Storyline integrated in Teams – Storyline from Viva Engage is now integrated in Teams. This feature lets organizers make changes to the group of moderators at any time, before or during the event, and it is available to all users organizing a town hall or webinar, regardless of license. - 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Meeting recap can be shared via link – Meeting participants can now share a link to the meeting recap from the meeting thumbnail in chat and the recap tab, making it easier to reference and share the meeting recap insights with others. Meeting participants can share the meeting recap link with anyone in their organization, for those users who don’t have access to the recording or transcript, they need to request recording and transcript access before they can access the meeting recap. - 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Teams meeting Notes now available in Microsoft Teams for Education – Teams meeting Notes, powered by Loop, is now available in Microsoft Teams for Education. Notes are Loop components in Teams meetings and chats that allow end users to co-create and collaborate on their meeting agenda, notes, and action items that can be co-authored and edited by everyone. Since Notes are Loop components, they stay in sync across all the places they have been shared. Assigned Tasks automatically sync with ToDo and Planner. - 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Shared tab in channel – The Files tab in channels is now “Shared”. - Microsoft Teams: Open file links preference to extend across M365 apps – When it comes to how links to cloud-hosted Word, Excel, or PowerPoint files should open, you may prefer they open in a browser, desktop apps, or directly in Teams. Now, your Teams file open preference will extend to across Microsoft 365 apps starting with classic Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. This makes the open file experience consistent on your Windows PC/device. If you prefer, you will still be able to choose your Teams file open preference separately. - Microsoft Teams: Intelligent Event Recap in Town hall and webinar (Premium) – Intelligent recap is now available for town hall and webinar event instances, just like the intelligent recap experience you are used to in meetings. Event organizer, co-organizers and presenters can now easily explore the meeting recording by speakers and topics, and access AI-generated meeting notes, AI-generated tasks, and name mentions. In addition to availability with a Teams Premium license, intelligent event recap features are also available in Copilot for Microsoft 365 licenses. - Microsoft Teams: Forward messages with app cards – Messages containing app cards in chats and channels can now be forwarded. - Microsoft Teams: Delayed simultaneous ring setting – For teams with shared call responsibilities, delayed simultaneous ring will ensure calls configure the intended recipient first, instead of notifying everyone the moment a call comes in. This helps reduce noise and minimizes distractions —especially for roles like delegates and customer service teams. - Microsoft Teams: Extensibility for PSTN calls – Third-party application developers will be able to extend the PSTN calling experience in Teams with contextual information, making it possible for Teams users to have access to relevant data without leaving the call experience. This brings additional context and workflow integration into calling experiences and makes customer facing professionals more efficient by having data from line of business applications readily available. This functionality is available for developers to integrate their applications and add new functionality to calls. - Microsoft Teams: IC3 token authorization on Android-based Microsoft Teams devices – All Android-based Microsoft Teams devices including Teams phone, non-touch phones, Teams displays, Teams panels, and Teams Rooms on Android, will use IC3 tokens instead of Skype tokens for modern, secure authorization. - Microsoft Teams: Automatic installation and update of the Network Device Interface (NDI) in Teams (Windows Only) – This update now enables users to install and update the Network Device Interface (NDI) automatically in Microsoft Teams without any manual process. This allows organizations to broadcast audio and video streams from Teams instances to a user’s local network. It is currently only available on Windows devices. - Microsoft Teams: Inline preview of files shared – Now you can review a file shared in chat and channels in your flow of work. - Microsoft Teams: VDI Status Indicator – This feature provides a visual optimization status indicator in Teams for VDI users. It will provide the user with an easy to understand status message (like ‘Optimized’, or ‘Not Optimized’), some contextual information about the optimization mode (optimized with the WebRTC-based solution or the new SlimCore-based solution), and in the not optimized case it will provide a brief description of the problem and an error code, for better supportability. It will also provide an option to repair Teams optimization mode if the user is not optimized (through a restart). - Microsoft Teams: DVR (Digital Video Recording) capabilities for town halls on desktop and web – Users can now interact with an instance of a live streaming town hall instance in the same way they would a recorded piece of content when viewing via desktop or web. DVR functionality in town hall enables event attendees to pause and move forward or back within a town hall, navigate to any previously-streamed timestamp, and other abilities that make interacting with a town hall more convenient and makes it easier to digest the content being presented. Decorate your background is a generative background effect in Teams that makes meetings more fun and personal by using AI to spruce up your meeting background. Blend your physical and digital spaces, enabling you to revamp what’s seen of your physical meeting space for each call. This will allow meeting organizers who are assigned to a customization policy the ability to select from different meeting theme options while scheduling their meetings. - Microsoft Teams: Admin Center – Admins can disable ability to send messages in meeting chat before and after the meeting – We are expanding the existing ‘Meeting chat’ control in Teams Admin Center with two new values, “In-meeting only for everyone” and “In-meeting only except anonymous users.” In Teams Admin Center, admins will see a setting called ‘Meeting chat’ under Meetings > Meeting Policies > Meeting Engagement. Admins can now select from five options in the ‘Meeting chat’ setting: (1) “On for everyone” (2) “On for everyone but anonymous users” (3) “Off” (4) “In-meeting only for everyone” (5) “In-meeting only except anonymous users.” Admins can select the “In-meeting only” values to disable participants’ ability to send messages in the meeting chat before or after the meeting, for meetings organized by specific users in their tenant. When one of these “In-meeting only” values are selected, participants can read past chat history but no one can send messages in the meeting chat unless the meeting is active. - Microsoft Teams: Integrate Chat notification with Meeting RSVP status – Microsoft Teams users will be able to control how they get notified in meeting chats through RSVP to their meetings. When you decline a meeting, you will not receive notifications or see the chats in chat list; when you accept a meeting, you will receive notification for all new messages. Sign in risk detections – Compromise risk associated with a specific sign-in. 2.
