• Microsoft Teams: App centric management in Teams Admin Center to manage the Apps access for tenants, end-users, and groups – App centric management introduces new admin settings to control who in the tenant can install Teams apps. First, admins can set a default value for new apps that are published to Teams app store. Second, admins can edit the availability of an app to ‘All users can install’, ‘Specific users and groups can install’, or ‘No user can install’. This feature evolves the existing app permission policies and provides admins with the ability to manage access to the app individually. The app permission policies for existing customers are migrated to maintain existing app availability in the tenant. • Microsoft Teams: Front Row gallery improvements on Teams Rooms on Windows: Active video speaker promotion – Front Row now promotes pinned or spotlighted participants to the center stage when there is no shared content in the single and dual display mode. For single display mode, when no one is pinned, spotlighted or sharing content, the most recent active speaker video will be promoted to the center. In dual display mode, when no one is pinned, spotlighted or sharing content, the two most recent active speaker videos will be promoted to the center on each screen. • Microsoft Teams: Teams Panels recognized and visible in Teams Rooms Pro Management – Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro Management will now support Teams Panels. Teams Panels will appear under Inventory and Rooms. If a Panel is sharing a resource account with a Teams Room or Surface Hub, the Panel will appear in the Inventory list for the room. The Admin capabilities for panels include viewing the health status, app version, firmware version, and serial number of the device. • Microsoft Teams: Collaborative Notes in Channel Meetings – Collaborative Notes will replace Wiki-based Channel Meeting Notes. Collaborative Notes in channel meetings allow attendees to co-create and collaborate on their meeting agenda, notes, and action items. Since Collaborative Notes are a Loop component, it is always in sync regardless of how many places they live in. Assigned Tasks in Collaborative Notes automatically sync with To Do and Planner. • Microsoft Teams: Task publishing: Schedule recurring lists in task publishing – The task publishing experience in Microsoft Teams is a feature for frontline organizations that have employees distributed across many geographically dispersed locations. The task publishing feature allows an organization to centrally define a set of work, choose the set of frontline locations that should complete that work, create the appropriate tasks for each frontline location, and monitor how that work is going. One of the top feature requests for task publishing has been the ability to create a set of tasks once and set them to automatically repeat at a scheduled cadence. Common examples are daily opening and closing tasks or weekly/monthly site inspections and compliance walks. When this feature is available, you’ll be able to set recurrence on a draft task list, which will allow you to choose the cadence (such as every month on the 15th of the month). You can then publish the list and task publishing will take care of scheduling the publication so that the list publishes automatically at that cadence going forward. We know from a wide range of customer conversations that this will be a big time saver for distributing recurring tasks across frontline organizations.
