  • Microsoft Teams: Walkie Talkie Favorite Channels – Walkie Talkie, a push-to-talk experience that enables clear and secure voice communication over the cloud, enables teams to communicate instantly on a channel. Through this new functionality, users can now pin up to 5 favorite channels on the walkie talkie home screen, enabling users to quickly switch between these preselected channels to listen to incoming transmission or initiate PTT transmissions.   •  Microsoft Teams: Controlled-content meeting template (Premium) – We are launching an out-of-the-box template that can be useful when meeting with external participants. The controlled-content meeting template has preset defaults for meeting options to provide tight controls over lobby bypass, who can present, allowing chat in lobby/in-meeting, and who can record.   • Microsoft Teams: Customization for Watermark (Premium) – Teams meeting organizers now have the flexibility to choose between a Single watermark or a repeated watermark. The Single watermark will display the viewer’s email on top of the shared content and/or video feed in a clean and unobtrusive manner.   • Microsoft Teams: Custom backgrounds for announcement posts in channels – Teams users will be able to create engaging custom backgrounds for channel announcements in just a few clicks.   • Microsoft Teams: SMS Notifications in Virtual Appointments Template (Premium) – External guest users will receive SMS text notifications about their appointment, including appointment details and the meeting join link so they can join directly from mobile. Text notifications are sent for appointment confirmation, updates, and a reminder 15 minutes before the appointment begins.   • Microsoft Teams: Choose which users to notify when publishing a task list – The task publishing experience in Microsoft Teams will soon allow you to choose which users to notify when you publish or unpublish a task list. In response to customer requests, you’ll soon have the ability to choose which members of teams receiving the tasks should get a notification in their Teams activity feed: all owners and members, owners only, or no one.   • Microsoft Teams: Scheduling improvements in Shifts app – In the Shifts app, people count, and full names, will show in the calendar view. The most recent filter settings will be saved automatically.   • Microsoft Teams:  Automatic updates for the Teams app on Android-based Teams devices – Android-based Teams devices will receive automatic updates of the Teams app without the need for any manual intervention.   •  🆕 Microsoft Teams: New Microsoft Teams store now available in GCCH and DOD – Users in GCCH and DOD environment can now experience the newly redesigned Teams store including adding apps for personal use, getting intelligent recommendations – like featured apps, popular apps amongst your colleagues, etc., receiving editorial articles that address common scenarios from apps to get started in Teams to those best for educators, searching apps faster and easier with updated app categories.   • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Archive channels – With Archive Channels, owners and administrators can archive channels that are no longer in use while preserving their content, including messages, files, and tabs. The archived channel is removed from the active teams and channels list and no more actions will be allowed.   • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Teams Phone and Teams Rooms licenses in device store – IT administrators can already browse and purchase Teams certified devices in the device store in Teams Admin Center.   • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: School Connection for parents in Microsoft Teams (mobile) – The School Connection app in Microsoft Teams mobile empowers parents and guardians to engage, support, and monitor their student’s learning at school.   • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Private Line – With private line, users will be able to have a private second phone number that they can make available to a select set of callers to call them directly, bypassing delegates, admins, or assistants.   • Microsoft Teams: Updates to Gallery View in Teams Meetings – The updated Gallery View places everyone in tiles of equal size by default (16:9 ratio) whether their video is on or off. Users can also easily change their gallery size, choose to prioritize tiles with video-on, and remove their tile from the main gallery. When a Microsoft Teams Room joins the meeting, video is optimized by enlarging the size by default and users can re-size via the contextual menu.   • Microsoft Teams: Integrate Chat notification with Meeting RSVP status – Microsoft Teams users will be able to control how they get notified in meeting chats through RSVP to their meetings. When you decline a meeting, you will not receive notifications or see the chats in chat list; when you accept a meeting, you will receive notification for all new messages.   • Microsoft Teams: Frosted Glass Backgrounds in Teams Meetings – Frosted Glass is a type of background effect that helps users keep their privacy with a background blur, but in a more professional and creative way. It let users have graphics with a blur effect together. Frosted Glass can be activated with a PNG image, that usually comes with some graphics in a transparent background. With the new frosted glass effects, the transparent area is turned into a blur background while the graphic remains as the part of background effect.   • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Meeting “Recording & Transcription” tab will be replaced by “Recap” tab – Now, the “Recap” tab for scheduled meetings will include access to the recording and transcript.  For meetings that have a “Recap” tab, the previous “Recording & Transcription” tab will be removed since the “Recap” tab will replace it.   • OneDrive: Offline mode – This feature will allow you to launch OneDrive in your browser and view, sort, rename, move, copy, and delete files even without internet access. Additionally, for locally stored OneDrive files (those that are marked as “always available offline”) you will be able to open and work on these in your browser even if you are offline. This change will reduce unnecessary alerts generated from cumulative exfiltration activities. Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management correlates various signals to identify potential malicious or inadvertent insider risks, such as IP theft, data leakage, and security violations. Insider Risk Management enables customers to create policies to manage security and compliance. Built with privacy by design, users are pseudonymized by default, and role-based access controls and audit logs are in place to help ensure user-level privacy.   •  Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Endpoint Data Loss Prevention –  Support for Advanced classification scanning and protection for Endpoints running on Mac OS – With this capability, admins can now extend Advanced classification support to Mac Endpoints as well. Advance Classification scanning and protection allows the more advanced Microsoft Purview cloud-based data classification service to scan items, classify them and return the results to the local machines. This means admins can take advantage of classification techniques like fingerprinting, exact data match classification and named entities in their DLP policies. These reported posts are then submitted to a Communication Compliance policy for designated investigators with the appropriate role-based access control permissions to review and take action if deemed necessary. Microsoft Purview Communication Compliance provides the tools to help organizations detect regulatory compliance violations (e.g. SEC or FINRA), such as sensitive or confidential information, harassing or threatening language, and sharing of adult content. Built with privacy by design, usernames are pseudonymized by default, role-based access controls are built in, investigators are opted in by an admin, and audit logs are in place to help ensure user-level privacy.
