  • Microsoft Teams: Developers can now opt-in and opt-out of Microsoft Teams Connect shared and private channels – Microsoft Teams Connect shared and private channels require special handling to retrieve context. Developers now have the flexibility to opt-in and opt-out of Microsoft Teams Connect shared and private channels to account for this. Roadmap ID:93978
  • Microsoft Teams: Open LMS integration with Microsoft 365 – Microsoft has now partnered with Open LMS to deliver more seamless integrated learning experiences. Microsoft Teams Meeting LTI and Classes LTI apps are now available within Open LMS.  Teams Classes LTI enables Educators to create a Team for their Open LMS course using the roster information of the course. Teams Meeting LTI empowers educators and students to access, schedule, and manage Teams Meetings within the Brightspace LMS.   • Microsoft Teams: Channel owner/s can delete meeting chat messages within channel meetings for government clouds – An IT admin can turn on “owners can delete sent messages” and assign this messaging policy to a user or group of users. This policy must be applied before channel owner/s can see “owners can delete sent messages” option on Member Permissions through Manage Team – Settings. If this option is enabled, channel owner/s who were assigned the policy will be permitted to delete chat messages in the main window and meeting window. Roadmap ID:91320
  • Microsoft Teams: View Together Mode for everyone – Meeting organizer and presenters will be able to start Together Mode in the meeting for all the participants. Roadmap ID:83658
  • Microsoft Teams: Give Take Control for Teams on VDI for VMware – User on VMware will be able to give and take control during calls and meetings. Give control: If you want another meeting participant to change a file, help you present, or demonstrate something, you can give control to that person. You will both be in control of the sharing, and you can take back control anytime. Take control: To take control while another person is sharing, select Request control. The person sharing can then approve or deny your request. While you have control, you can make selections, edits, and other modifications to the shared screen.   • Microsoft Teams: Support of live captions for Teams for VDI for Citrix – Teams users on virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) will be able to use live captions. Live captions display the text version of the audio during the call. Roadmap ID:86774
  • Microsoft Teams: Large Gallery for Teams on VDI in Government Clouds – By default, Teams Meetings supports up to 9 videos in Gallery. Now, using Large Gallery, users can view up to 49 videos at once in meetings on virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI). Roadmap ID:93000
  • Microsoft Teams: Together Mode for Teams on VDI in Government Clouds – Together Mode lets you see all your colleagues against a shared background, making you feel like you are all ‘together’ in a virtual online room. Now available in meetings on virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI). Roadmap ID:93001

  • Microsoft Teams: Call control with bluetooth headsets and speakerphones  –  Use device buttons to control call (answer, end, hold) from Bluetooth audio devices without needing a USB dongle when connected to a Windows PC running Teams desktop client. For many headsets and speakerphones, this will work without requiring any user action to enable other than pairing the headset or speakerphone with the PC. Watch our certification page for additional information coming soon about devices tested to meet all certification criteria with native Bluetooth connections (w/o a USB dongle).    Roadmap ID:84309
  • Microsoft Teams: Bulk removal for individual policy assignments – Admins can cleanup individual policy assignments from users in bulk, so that those users can inherit the correct policy either via a group policy assignment or global org-wide default. Roadmap ID:90705
  • Microsoft Teams: ‘Share to Teams’ from Teams personal Apps or Tabs – ‘Share to Teams’ now allows users to share URLs from personal app or tab to other user or group or channel within Teams. This launches the ‘Share to Teams’ experience in a pop-up/modal window enabling a faster and seamless sharing experience.  Roadmap ID:91117
  • Microsoft Teams and Forms: Rating Poll – The Rating question type is being added to the Polls app within Microsoft Teams.  Meeting owners can easily create and launch Rating polls to increase engagement and collect input from their meeting attendees, as well as share the results live.  Roadmap ID:93991
  • Microsoft Teams: Camera On/Off feature – Beginning July 2022, any certified Teams Peripherals supporting the Camera On/Off feature will allow a user to more efficiently turn on or off their Video during a call or meeting. Instead of fumbling with your mouse or keypad to bring up the Meeting Stage and then press the Video icon, a simple click of a button will allow the user to quickly control their video state.   • Microsoft Teams: Brightspace (D2L) LMS integration with Microsoft 365 – Microsoft has now partnered with Brightspace (D2L) LMS to deliver more seamless integrated learning experiences. Microsoft Teams Meeting LTI and Classes LTI apps are now available within Brightspace.  Teams Classes LTI enables Educators to create a Team for their Brightspace course using the roster information of the course.   • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Freehand by InVision Feature Change – The Freehand by InVision feature that was able to be initiated from the Share Tray in a Teams Meeting is being removed. Users can use the new Freehand by InVision Meeting App to create and collaborate on Freehands during their meetings. Roadmap ID:96011
  • Microsoft Teams: Mute/ unmute status icon for Teams Rooms on Windows – To ensure users in the room are aware of the mute state of the room, a mute icon is added to the room video on the front of room display. Roadmap ID:95257
  • Microsoft Teams: Start a Teams Chat with Distribution Groups, Mail-enabled Security Groups, and O365 Groups – Item has been delayed and is being rescheduled. You will now be able to start a Teams Chat with Distribution Groups, Mail-enabled Security Groups, and O365 Groups. This feature will respect the limits on members in a group chat, currently set to 250 members.   Roadmap ID:62354
  • Microsoft Teams: Home page customization for Teams admin center – IT admins can drag and drop widgets to customize their Home page in Teams admin center.  Roadmap ID:85703
  • Microsoft Teams: Live Transcript for Teams Meetings for GCC-High – Teams Meetings now have a real-time transcript during their meetings as well as a post-meeting transcript. This will help users in real-time recall what has been spoken during the meeting as well as review the meeting after the fact. Roadmap ID:82230

  • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Microsoft Teams Rooms Companion Device Experience Enhancement – Optimize Video Gallery for in-room participants – When joining a meeting in a Microsoft Teams Rooms with a personal laptop running Microsoft Teams, the video galleries on both the Teams Room and laptops will be optimized to display only remote attendees.  (Proximity Join with Microsoft Teams Rooms is required).   • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Honor Tenant admin control settings for Microsoft Bookings SMS functionality in the Bookings app in Teams – Tenant admin settings in Bookings admin page in Microsoft Teams Admin center to enable/disable SMS functionality in all Bookings calendars in the tenant.   • Microsoft Teams: Native Apple Silicon Support – Universal Binary Teams Version – Teams now comes as a Universal Binary Mac so it runs natively on both Intel and Apple Silicon based Mac devices. Roadmap ID:94836
  • Microsoft Teams: Usability improvements to in-meeting notifications – Simplifying the in-meeting notification displays where users are informed about what they need to know or do without causing unnecessary distraction.  Roadmap ID:96283
  • Microsoft Teams: View video recordings and attendance reports inside LMS – Teachers and students will be able to access video recordings and attendance reports inside their LMS itself. Microsoft Teams Meeting LTI app has enabled availability of these artifacts inside LMS. The feature will be available to use in all the LMSs incorporating Teams Meeting LTI app. Roadmap ID:96402
  • Microsoft Teams: Adobe PDF experience – Tenant admins can set Adobe Acrobat as the default app in Teams admin center to view and edit PDF files in the Microsoft Teams.   Roadmap ID:95128
  • Microsoft Teams: Expanded Reactions – Expanded reactions allows users to apply any emoji as a reaction to chat messages! Pick from 800 plus Teams emojis to react the way you want.  Roadmap ID:88080

Release – December 2022

  • Microsoft Teams: Teams device management in DoD – Tenants in the DoD environment can also manage their Teams devices from the Teams admin center. Admins can now control the entire lifecycle of their Teams devices which include an increasing variety of supported device types – IP Phones, Collaboration bars, Teams displays, Teams Meeting Room devices.
