  • Custom background effects in meetings – this feature allows meeting attendees to customise their background by uploading their own photo. Roadmap ID: 63666
  • Background effects policy for admins – tenant admins will be able to assign a user-level policy to control how users engage with background effects in meetings. Roadmap ID: 63670
  • Screen share from chat policy governance – Previously governed by the AllowPrivateCalling policy, if diasbled users were not able to screen share from chat. This option is now governed by the ScreenSharingMode policy to allow you to immediately share your screen in 1-1 or group chats. Roadmap ID: 63193
  • Self-Service Sign-up for hybrid environment customers – Users in hybrid tenants who are not in AAD will soon be able to sign-up for Teams using their organizational email address. Roadmap ID: 52416
  • Teams for Linux client – The Teams client for Linux is being updated to extend capabilities like chats, meetings, and calling. Roadmap ID: 56219
  • Increase in the number of simultaneous videos in Teams meetings (GCC) – Increase in the number of participants who can be viewed simultaneously on the Teams meeting stage from 4 to 9. Roadmap ID: 64610
  • Website tabs in Teams (GCC-High) – his feature lets users in GCC High add a website tab in Teams. Roadmap ID: 59839

  • Queue sent messages when offline – When attempting to send messages while offline, Teams will queue messages and send once a network connection is re-established. If the message is in an unsent state for more than 24 hours, the message will fail and the user will be prompted to resend or delete the message. Roadmap ID: 64687

  • Support for native device camera and location capabilities for Personal apps and tabs – App developers will be able to use mobile native capabilities like image capture and providing location coordinates through GPS. Roadmap ID: 64615
  • New file sharing experience – You can soon create a shareable link for any file stored in Teams and directly set the appropriate permissions.   • Batch policy/ group policy assignment – The Microsoft Teams PowerShell module now supports the ability to assign a policy to a batch of users or a group. Roadmap ID: 61185

  • Priority Notifications in Gov Clouds – Share urgent messages and time-sensitive information more effectively with Teams. Priority notifications alert a recipient of an urgent message on their mobile and desktop devices until a response is received, every two minutes for up to 20 minutes. Roadmap ID: 64689
