  • Include up to 10,000 users in an individual team – Microsoft have raised the upper limit on individual team membership from 5,000 to 10,000 users. Roadmap ID: 62549
  • Group chat with up to 250 people – Group chats will be able to accommodate up to 250 users. Roadmap ID: 63577
  • Set tenant-wide default selection for “Who Can Present” in Teams meetings – Tenant admins can now update their Teams meeting policies via PowerShell to allow for a new default selection when choosing who can present in new Teams meetings, default is “everyone”. Roadmap ID: 63206
  • Inline message translation in Office 365 Government GCC and GCC High – With a simple click, people who speak different languages can fluidly communicate with one another by translating posts in channels and chat. Roadmap ID: 61637

  • Improved Teams meeting join launcher experience – Users will be prompted with an option to join on the web, download the Teams client, or join with the native teams client. Roadmap ID: 62905
  • Third-party single sign-on (SSO) for apps in Teams – Users won’t have to sign in again on apps that integrate with single sign-on for both desktop and mobile. Roadmap ID: 59369
  • Private Channels in Office 365 government tenants – Private channels are rolling out to government tenants now. Roadmap ID: 60719

Release – June CY2020

  • Organization allowed accounts config (Teams mobile) – Teams for iOS and Android now provides Teams administrators with the ability to push allowed account configurations to Teams. Roadmap ID: 64143
  • Pinned posts – Users will be able to pin any message in a channel to the channel information pane for all members to see. Roadmap ID: 64334
  • New lobby setting: only the organizer joins the meeting directly – Microsoft are adding “Only me” as an option to the “Who can bypass lobby?” setting. Once enabled, only the organizer will be able to join the meeting directly. Roadmap ID: 64343
  • Audit logs in Shifts – Audit logs will be provided within the O365 Security & Compliance Center. Roadmap ID: 64476
  • PSTN participant phone numbers are masked from external users – Customers with Audio Conferencing enabled for Teams meetings, PSTN participant’s phone numbers will be masked to users who have joined from outside of your organization. Roadmap ID: 63309
  • Reverse number lookup enhancements – With these latest enhancements, the Telco display name will now also show up in your Activity Feed, Call History, and Voicemail. Roadmap ID: 64405
  • Contextual Search – Ability to search for content in a specific channel or chat by pressing CTRL + F. Search results will only contain messages and files found in the selected chat or channel. Roadmap ID: 64017
  • Channel info pane – Selecting the “Channel info” icon in the channel header will display summary information related to that channel. Roadmap ID: 64173
  • Additional Power Automate triggers for Microsoft Teams – Streamline routine tasks in Microsoft Teams with two new Power Automate triggers for when a new teammate joins. Roadmap ID: 60618
  • New experience for launching instant channel meetings – The Meet Now buttons are moving into the channel header to easily find and launch instant channel meetings. Roadmap ID: 62904
  • Enable organizers to change lobby settings for PSTN meeting participants for GCC customers – Users who schedule Teams meetings will now see a separate setting to control the lobby for PSTN participants. Roadmap ID: 63833
  • Announce when PSTN participants join/leave the meeting for GCC customers – Users who schedule Teams meetings will now see a new setting to control the announcement sound. Roadmap ID: 63834

Release – Q4 CY2020

  • Batch policy/ group policy assignment – The Microsoft Teams PowerShell module now supports the ability to assign a policy to a batch of users or a group. Roadmap ID: 61185
  • Android on-demand chat translation – With a simple click, people who speak different languages can fluidly communicate with one another by translating posts in channels and chat. Roadmap ID: 63226
  • New experience for launching instant channel meetings for GCC customers – You will soon find the Meet Now buttons in the Channel header where you can easily find and launch the meeting. Roadmap ID: 64483
  • Improved Teams meeting join launcher experience for GCC customers – Users who click on a Teams meeting join link will now see an optimize and improved join experience. Roadmap ID: 64484
