• Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365): Generate documents using forms in SharePoint with Power Automate – We are introducing a new Power Automate action that enables automated document generation using document generation (DocGen) forms in SharePoint. Generate document from form (Preview) allows customers to create documents from a template by mapping data inputs to predefined template fields. Documents are generated as part of an automated flow and stored in SharePoint. This capability supports scenarios such as creating contracts, invoices, letters, or reports using structured templates and form-driven inputs. The new room optimization mode replaces shared display mode, has a new location, and enables or disables room-specific features. When room peripherals are connected, Teams can automatically select audio and video devices, enable speaker recognition and shared display, and disable voice isolation. • Microsoft Teams: Profanity filter is disabled by default for captions – We are updating the default profanity filter setting for live captions from On to Off across Teams meetings, calls, events, and Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR) devices to improve accessibility and align with EU requirements. This change will only affect users who have never configured their live captions profanity filter preference. Users who have already set their preference will keep their current setting. As a result, some users may begin seeing unfiltered profanity in live captions by default after this rollout. • Microsoft Teams: Town hall media optimization for VDI attendees – Teams now supports audio and video offloading for Town hall attendees in VDI environments that are using the new optimization. Media streams are offloaded directly to the user’s local device, improving performance and delivering a high definition viewing experience while reducing virtual desktop resource usage. All attendee interactivity features remain supported, including captions, DVR, reactions, streaming chat, and Q&A. First party and third party eCDNs are supported. When enabled, the attendee’s endpoint establishes a direct peer to peer connection using the local device network, avoiding virtual desktop double hop traffic. • Microsoft Teams: QR code protection in Teams messaging – Microsoft Teams will provide additional protection for QR codes shared by external users in messages. Images containing QR codes from external senders will be obscured by default and require users to reveal them before viewing or scanning. • Microsoft Teams: Admins can control profanity filtering in meeting transcripts – Teams administrators will be able to use a meeting policy to control whether profane words are masked in live transcription and saved meeting transcripts. • Microsoft Purview: Information Protection – Rights Management connector – Certificate-based authentication – The Microsoft Rights Management (RMS) connector is moving from shared-secret authentication to certificate-based authentication, improving its security posture. With this update, administrators configure their own Microsoft Entra app registration and certificate, then use the new PowerShell module to configure the certificate for each workload (Connector, Exchange, SharePoint, and FCI). New PowerShell cmdlets handle certificate import, registry configuration, private-key permissions, and validation. As part of this change, the connector setup no longer provisions an Entra service principal or issues a shared secret on the customer’s behalf. Customers should plan to register an Entra ID application and upload a certificate before installing or upgrading the connector.
