• SharePoint: Viva Connections multi-home site management moving to SharePoint admin center – Viva Connections multi-home site management is moving from the Microsoft 365 admin center (MAC) to the SharePoint Admin Center (SPAC). Administrators will be able to create and manage multiple Home sites, configure audience targeting, manage home site priority order, and remove Home sites directly from SPAC. Existing entry points in the Microsoft 365 admin center will direct administrators to the new SPAC experience. As part of this update, legacy Viva Connections (VC) instances and draft/enabled management concepts are being deprecated as Viva Connections administration is consolidated into SharePoint Home site management. • Microsoft Teams: Manage Built-in Teams agents in the Teams admin center – Admins will be able to manage Teams built-in agents across core Teams experiences, including chats, channels, and meetings, through a dedicated experience in the Teams admin center. From a centralized location, admins can control agents’ availability for users and groups. These agents will be enabled by default for licensed users and managed independently from org-wide Microsoft app settings. • Microsoft Teams: Admin setting for simpler meeting passcodes (numeric‑only) – Tenant admins can enable a meeting policy setting that generates 8 digit numeric-only passcodes for meetings organized by selected users/groups. Because numeric-only passcodes increase the risk of unauthorized access, enabling the setting displays a warning and requires explicit confirmation. • Microsoft Viva: Engage Communities in Microsoft Teams – Your Viva Engage communities will now be available in Teams along side teams, chats and channels. • Microsoft Teams: Join Google Meet meetings in Teams Rooms on Windows – Organizations now have expanded meeting interoperability with two-way Direct Guest Join (DGJ) between Google Meet and Teams meetings.  Teams Rooms on Windows devices can join Google Meet meetings, and Google Meet devices can join Teams meetings. Users can join with one click through the calendar or by meeting ID. This capability is now available for both Commercial (Feb 2026) and Government cloud environments. • Microsoft Teams: Modernized Gallery view in Teams Rooms on Android – The updated Gallery view in Teams Rooms on Android prioritizes video on the meeting stage, arranges participants in consistent aspect ratios, and minimizes movement of participant tiles on stage. Users can hide the room self-preview video and choose to see audio and video participants equally on stage, instead of prioritizing video participants. • Microsoft Teams: PowerPoint Live Light theme support – Presenting PowerPoint slides in Teams just got better. • Microsoft Teams: Enhanced IntelliFrame with AI data channel for intelligent cameras – Teams Rooms on Windows users can now benefit from next generation IntelliFrame features on certified AI-capable cameras with on-device video processing. With IntelliFrame’s expanded AI data channel, participants experience faster active speaker framing, people recognition and labels, and more responsive meeting views—even when network conditions are limited. Simply invite Facilitator with one tap of the room console. • Microsoft Teams: AI-generated meeting archive for knowledge retention – Admins can enable a tenant-wide policy that allows Copilot (and Facilitator) to retain key insights from meetings beyond transcript retention periods. This enables Copilot to continue answering questions about past meetings even after transcripts expire. Admins can also configure how long this AI-generated meeting archive is stored. • Microsoft Teams: Facilitator detects and answers questions – Facilitator now automatically detects open questions raised during a Teams meeting and offers to help answer them using web search. When a participant asks a question (e.g., “What is an LLM?”) and no one answers, Facilitator posts a prompt offering to find an answer. • Microsoft Teams: Intelligent meeting recap available without saving transcript – Intelligent recap can now be generated without retaining a transcript after the meeting. Meeting organizers can choose this setting from the meeting options before the meeting, or organizers and eligible participants can enable it during the meeting. After the meeting, the AI Summary will be available, but other elements of the recap may not be available (Chapters, Topics, Mentions, Audio recap). • OneDrive: Improved max path error experience on desktop – OneDrive desktop sync users now get clearer, more actionable guidance when file paths exceed the supported 520-character limit. • Microsoft Purview: Data Loss Prevention – Enriched Audit Data for Matched Rules  –  When DLP rules detect policy violations in Exchange Online, they generate audit records that administrators rely on for compliance monitoring, incident investigation, and policy tuning. Previously, these records only showed Sensitive Information Type matches. This feature aims to extend that to sender domain, subject keywords, attachment type, or recipient information. • Microsoft Purview: Data Lifecycle Management – Increase in expansion limit for auto expanding archive beyond 1.5TB – Previously, auto expanding archive mailbox expansion was supported only up to 1.5 TB, after which mailboxes would become inoperative. Archive mailboxes can now automatically expand beyond the 1.5 TB limit, ensuring uninterrupted retention and enabling scalable archive growth as storage thresholds are reached. • Microsoft Purview: Data Lifecycle Management– Hard delete capability for OneDrive and SharePoint through secure priority cleanup workflows – Data Lifecycle Management allows compliance admins to retain, review and delete content in M365 workloads. Deletion of content to adhere to compliance requirements, admins can set up Retention policies or labels. To help prevent inadvertent data loss, M365 retention labels policies and M365 retention policies do not hard delete content immediately and keeps the data in Recycle Bins for 93 days for ODSP. Hard delete itself is a very costly process as it opens Microsoft to heavy legal implications in case of any data loss incident that may occur due to a misconfigured policy or regression. Priority Cleanup feature allows users to bypass retention, and eDiscovery holds to help customers comply to changing legal/compliance requirements or manage data spillage scenarios. This feature requires the ability to hard delete specific files from the scoped locations. Ability to select hard delete configuration for a Priority cleanup policy for OneDrive and SharePoint content and skip recycle bins. • Microsoft Purview: Information Protection – Auto-labeling scale increase for SharePoint and OneDrive – We are increasing the maximum auto-labeling capacity for SharePoint and OneDrive from 100,000 up to 500,000 files per tenant per day. This helps organizations label and protect more of their data at rest, faster, closing labeling gaps across existing content. With sensitivity labels and protection settings applied to more files sooner, organizations can better prepare their data estate for Microsoft 365 Copilot with greater confidence. • Microsoft Purview: Data Lifecycle Management – Graph API Support for Archive Mailboxes – Access to Archive mailboxes (Main + Auxiliary) through Microsoft Graph. The goal is to give users a single, seamless Archive view, even though Archive data may physically reside across multiple auxiliary mailboxes with EWS Graph APIs getting deprecated by OCT 2026. • Microsoft Purview: Data Lifecycle Management – Hard delete capability for OneDrive and SharePoint through secure priority cleanup workflows – Data Lifecycle Management allows compliance admins to retain, review and delete content in M365 workloads. Deletion of content to adhere to compliance requirements, admins can set up Retention policies or labels. To help prevent inadvertent data loss, M365 retention labels policies and M365 retention policies do not hard delete content immediately and keeps the data in Recycle Bins for 93 days for ODSP. Hard delete itself is a very costly process as it opens Microsoft to heavy legal implications in case of any data loss incident that may occur due to a misconfigured policy or regression. Priority Cleanup feature allows users to bypass retention, and eDiscovery holds to help customers comply to changing legal/compliance requirements or manage data spillage scenarios. This feature requires the ability to hard delete specific files from the scoped locations. Ability to select hard delete configuration for a Priority cleanup policy for OneDrive and SharePoint content and skip recycle bins. • Microsoft Purview: Data Loss Prevention – DLP Policy Change Insights with Security Copilot – Introduce an AI-powered capability leveraging Microsoft Security Copilot to automatically generate natural language explanations of changes made to DLP policies after each update within Microsoft Purview. This feature will analyze policy version deltas (pre-update vs. post-update) and produce a structured, human-readable summary that clearly explains: What changed Where the change occurred (rule, condition, action, location, etc.) The impact of the change The potential enforcement implications The goal is to eliminate manual policy diff analysis, reduce configuration ambiguity, and improve governance transparency for compliance and security administrators. • Microsoft Purview: Insider Risk Management – Policy Recommendation Panel in IRM – Today, Insider Risk Management (IRM) provides policy-driven protection for data leaks, data theft, and risky AI usage. However, while policy-driven protections are powerful, customers may not always have clear visibility into where coverage can be optimized or expanded to address latent insider risk. IRM now provides guidance on what protections are missing or which policy configurations deliver the most incremental value, providing customers with more comprehensive coverage to mitigate their most critical insider risk. Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management correlates various signals to identify potential malicious or inadvertent insider risks, such as IP theft, data leakage, and security violations. Insider Risk Management enables customers to create policies based on their own internal policies, governance, and organizational requirements.
