          • Microsoft Teams: Enhancing usability for the frontline – We are enhancing the default experience for Frontline Workers by making it easier to connect with their organization and introducing more intuitive app names. These updates include adding the Viva Engage experience into the Tailored Frontline App Experience and renaming Viva Connections to Home for greater clarity.           • Microsoft Teams: Intelligent recap for calls from chat and Meet now meetings now available for GCC High – Intelligent meeting recap will be available in GCC High for impromptu calls and meetings, like those started from Meet now and calls started from chat. You can easily browse the recording by speakers and topics, as well as access AI-generated notes, AI-generated tasks, and name mentions after the ad-hoc meeting ends.           • Microsoft Teams: Control your mic state during meetings from Windows taskbar available in the new Teams on Windows – After further review, we are not able to roll this out to DoD, thank you for your patience. This feature, available in the new Teams experience on Windows, enables you to mute and unmute your audio by clicking the mic icon in Windows taskbar. To control your mic during the meeting from the taskbar, do the following: select the mic icon on your taskbar or press Windows logo key + Alt + K to mute or unmute.           • Microsoft Teams: Live transcription on Teams Rooms on Windows – You can control live transcription (start, stop, restart) during a meeting from a Team Rooms on Windows device. The real-time transcript includes each speaker’s name and timestamp. You can also change settings including the spoken language, the translated language, and whether the original and translated transcript would show side by side.           • Microsoft Teams: Live caption translation in Teams Rooms on Windows – While live captions display in the spoken language by default, on Teams Rooms on Windows, you can now choose the translation language you prefer without affecting what other meeting participants see.           • Microsoft Teams: Forwarding loop components – You can now forward chat messages containing Loop components, allowing for seamless sharing and real-time collaboration across different chats.           • Microsoft Teams: Separate policies to control transcription for Town halls and Webinars – Town halls and webinars will now have separate policies to allow or disable transcription in instances. Previously, the transcription policies for town halls and webinars automatically inherited the transcription policy set for meetings.             •  Microsoft Teams:  Specify who can manage the screen in Teams Town hall – A new option in Town hall lets Organizers designate who can manage the screen shown to attendees during the event. Organizers can select specific individuals who will be able to start the event, manage what attendees see, and end the event, ensuring a smoother and more organized event experience.             • Microsoft Teams: Add a presenter from the participant roster in a town hall or webinar – Organizers and presenters can quickly add a missing presenter to an ongoing town hall or webinar by calling them directly from the participant roster. Once the missing presenter accepts the call, they instantly join as a presenter, automatically joining the Green Room (if enabled) and added to the event group chat.             • Microsoft Teams: App ratings will be available in the unfurled links – App ratings will appear on the unfurled links for shared apps and agents to allow users who rely on ratings to evaluate apps prior to installing.             • Microsoft Teams: Standard and Basic licensed Teams rooms on Windows in the Pro Management portal  – The Teams Rooms Pro Management portal now supports and enforces licenses for devices in Teams Rooms on Windows with a Standard or Basic license. IT admins get a unified device management experience through the Pro Management portal where they can manage those devices with the same functionality found in Teams admin center for that license type.             • Microsoft Teams: Webinars in DoD – Teams Webinars are now available for the DoD community.               • Microsoft Teams: Interpreter agent available in Teams – The Interpreter agent enables real-time interpretation in Teams meetings in up to nine languages so each participant can speak and listen in the language of their choice. Meeting participants can also opt-in to have Interpreter simulate their personal voice for a more inclusive experience.                   •  🆕 Microsoft Teams: Threads in channels – Threads in channels allow you to start a side conversation within a channel and focus on specific topics while keeping the main conversation clutter-free. You can reply to specific messages and create a separate thread, helping to minimize distractions and foster better collaboration.                   • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Multiple Emoji Reactions per message – You can now react to messages and posts with multiple emojis per message, enhancing your ability to express a wide range of emotions effectively. Use combinations of emojis for a richer and more nuanced response, quickly conveying your feelings and thoughts, like agreement, urgency or sentiment, without extra replies keeping discussions focused and efficient.                   • Microsoft Teams: External group chat policy enforcements for max two orgs – Facilitate creation and maintenance of external group chats with bilateral policy enforcement where members in the chat can belong to a maximum of two tenants.  Allow tenant admins to control bilateral chat policy and apply it to users and groups.                   • Microsoft Teams: Support for PowerPoint live within Cloud Video Interop (CVI) – This new functionality will provide CVI Partners with the ability to display still images when PowerPoint live content is being presented within a Microsoft Teams meeting. The PowerPoint presentation will then be displayed as video content, this will not include animations or embedded videos.                   • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Default Teams Calling global policy to enable users to transcribe or record calls – Were updating the default global calling policy for new tenants to allow users to transcribe or record calls. Previously, these settings were turned off by default in the host global policy. With this update, recording and transcription will be enabled by default in the global calling policy for new tenants and existing tenants who have not modified the host global policy. This change will not impact existing custom policies or modified global policies. After this rollout, recording and transcription services will be more accessible to users, allowing them to turn on and use recording and transcription as needed during Teams calls. Neither recording nor transcription will be automatically enabled in Teams calls. This update is designed to broaden access to AI-powered features like Calls Recap and Calling Copilot, enhancing the overall calling experience. It also brings calling policy defaults in line with Teams meetings policies, where recording and transcription are already enabled by default.                   • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Line key configuration on Teams Phone devices from Teams Admin Center (TAC) – This feature allows admins to configure line keys for various scenarios on Teams phone devices, including personal and common area phones (CAP).                   • Microsoft Teams: Customize the screen in Teams Town hall through “Manage what attendees see”  – Organizers will be able to effortlessly enhance their Teams Town hall presentations. In Manage what attendees see users will be able to customize their screen using select layouts, backgrounds, and name tags, resulting in a polished, high-quality, and engaging event.                   • Microsoft Teams: Rules-Based Enablement of Third-Party Teams Apps in Teams Admin Center – This feature allows M365 administrators to define specific criteria for approving third-party Teams applications within their tenant. Administrators can select from a list of predefined, safe criteria, ensuring that only trusted and compliant applications are made available under this rule.                         • Microsoft Graph: Graph API – Copilot for Microsoft 365 usage – Copilot for Microsoft 365 usage will be added to the Microsoft Graph API, allowing for the creation of customized reporting and analytics. Metrics included in the Graph API will match those available in the Copilot for Microsoft 365 usage report in the Microsoft 365 admin center, including tenant-level count of enabled users and active users, as well as last activity date per user (all up and per Microsoft 365 app).                             • Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Policy sync status on Purview portal – The Policy Sync Status feature enables solution admins to know the policy sync status directly from the Policy page in Purview portal. When a policy is created or updated by a user, the changes are distributed to the locations selected. This new feature will give users insight into whether the policy changes have reached the target locations. Before this rollout, the user must reinitiate the print job for the intended result.                               • 🆕 Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Insider Risk Management – Experience enhancements to IRM alert investigation workflow – Experience enhancements to IRM alert investigation workflow including updates to the alert’s “All risk factors” page and activity explorer. These enhancements will give customers the ability to maximize the visual space for their investigation. Labeling, classification and protection actions on scanned files are stored in SQL tables that form a foundation to feed into custom reports.                               • 🆕 Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Upcoming Update to Audit Records for Microsoft Purview Role Group Changes – To improve clarity and transparency, were updating the audit data for events related to Microsoft Purview role group membership changes. This update affects audit events under the SecurityComplianceRBAC workload (RecordType 87), specifically for operations for GrantPermission, DeletePermission. While the audit schema remains unchanged, the PreExecutionMessage and PostExecutionMessage fields will be refined to better reflect the nature of the changes captured in the logs. Action Required: If your organization consumes these audit log events programmatically (e.g., via scripts or automation tools), please review and update your parsing logic to accommodate the enhanced message content. Rollout Timeline: This change will be rolled out starting in August. We recommend validating your systems against the updated message format as soon as it becomes available in your environment.
