•  Microsoft Teams: SMS for Microsoft Teams Calling Plans – Enabling the ability to send and receive SMS messages directly from the Teams app on desktop or mobile, making it easy to connect with users outside of your organization who are not using Teams. • Microsoft Teams: Default enable transcription policy for new tenants for Teams meetings – We are updating the default policy for Transcription in Teams meetings from off to on for any new tenant. This change doesnt mean that every meeting will automatically have transcription enabled, but it will allow users to turn on transcription if needed. This update applies only to Teams meetings and does not affect transcription policies for calls. This adjustment aligns the default Transcription policy with that of Recording, supporting broader adoption of Transcription and all AI features. • Microsoft Teams: Copilot in Teams can analyze content shared on-screen during a meeting – Now, Copilot in Teams can analyze content shared on-screen during a meeting when recording is enabled. This, along with meeting transcript and meeting chat, enables users to ask Copilot to summarize or find specific information from screen-shared content (e.g., ‘Which products had the highest sales?’), consolidate insights across both the conversation and presentation (e.g., ‘What was the feedback per slide?’), and draft new content based on the entire meeting (e.g., ‘Rewrite the paragraph shared on the screen incorporating the feedback from the chat’). This works for any content shared while sharing your desktop screen (including but not limited to documents, slides, spreadsheets, and websites, irrespective of platform or app). • Microsoft Teams: New policy for voice and face enrollment defaulting to ‘On’ – The new policy gives IT admins enhanced flexibility with distinct settings for voice and face enrollment. • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Copilot only during call – Copilot is only available during the live call session and will not be accessible after the call ends. • 🆕 Microsoft Teams:  Simplified Notes pane in meetings – Were updating the Notes pane in meetings to streamline the design and make key controls more clear. First, were renaming the header from Meeting Notes to Notes match the panels name in the meeting toolbar.  Second, the file-level controls like Open in new window and Copy component are combined into a single header at the top for simplicity. • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Translated Intelligent meeting recap  –  Intelligent meeting recap supports meetings where multiple languages were spoken, making it easy for you to catch up quickly on the key points discussed. After a meeting where participants spoke different languages, your intelligent meeting recap will automatically be generated in the language you chose during the meeting. • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Meeting transcription supports multiple spoken languages – Meeting participants can now set their own spoken language during meetings, allowing each participant to communicate in their preferred language. Previously, Teams meetings required a common spoken language to generate a transcript. With this update, a meeting transcript can be accurately generated reflecting each participants language of choice. • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Copilot in Teams meetings responses can be exported to Word and Excel – Now, certain responses from Copilot in Teams meetings will have an option to edit Word or Excel. The edit option for Word will be available for Copilot responses that are long (more than 1300 characters) and will automatically open a Word document with the response written. The edit option for Excel will be available for Copilot responses that are formatted in a table, and will automatically open an Excel file with the formatted response added. Copilot responses can only be exported if the meeting policy for the meeting is set to allow copying or forwarding of meeting chat, live captions, transcript, and Copilot responses. • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Enhancing usability for the frontline – We are enhancing the default experience for Frontline Workers by making it easier to connect with their organization and introducing more intuitive app names. • Microsoft Teams: Facilitator agent notetaking in meetings and chats – The Facilitator agent takes real-time notes during your Teams meetings and chats. It synthesizes key information from the conversations, so you can catch up quickly. In meetings, it allows everyone to co-author and collaborate seamlessly. • Microsoft Teams: Monitor Teams client updates in Teams Admin center – IT Administrators can now monitor Teams client version update adoption and access detailed adoption information. This feature enables administrators to proactively understand version adoption, assess version health, and access granular details about devices and users who are on the latest client versions. Additionally, it provides visibility on recency of client versions. Administrators can now proactively view insights and address issues preventing users from automatically updating to the latest and most secure version of the Teams client. • Microsoft Teams: Teams client health dashboards in Teams Admin Center – IT Administrators can view and monitor the health of Teams desktop clients on both Windows and Mac platforms. To do this, access the keyboard shortcuts dialog from the Settings and more button in the upper right, and select a communication or meeting layout. • Microsoft Teams: Cross Cloud collaboration in VDI – VDI users can join meetings with people in other Microsoft 365 cloud environments (e.g., a user in GCCH joining a meeting in commercial, GCC or DOD) through three options: authenticated access via cross-cloud meeting connection, authenticated access using a guest account, or anonymous access. These scenarios require Slimcore-based optimization, as WebRTC-based optimization does not support meetings across different cloud environments. • 🆕 Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Information Protection: SharePoint Online extends library permissions to downloaded files – This new capability ties together SharePoint Online library permissions with Purview sensitivity labeling and protection. SharePoint Online document library owners can set a label on the library, automatically applying that label to all unprotected and unlabeled Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF files in the target library. This not only simplifies labeling in bulk across document libraries in an organization but enriches DLP and Copilot with signal to allow admins to monitor and restrict access to this content. Files downloaded from these libraries are protected at download. Users accessing these files outside of SharePoint Online have their rights evaluated in real time against the document library. Changes to user permissions on the document library are reflected on downloaded files, including full revocation for users removed from the document library.
