• SharePoint: Using Data Access Governance to understand the tenant’s current permission landscape – SharePoint admins can now use Data Access Governance (DAG) to understand their tenant’s current permission landscape and make better decisions regarding applications based on permissions such as Copilot. DAG now provides a report that will reflect the latest state of permissions in the entire tenant and return sites that have a greater count of permissioned users than the SharePoint admin specified number. This count considers users accessing sites via site membership and users accessing via unique permissions, as well and acts like a potential threshold for oversharing. Along with the permissioned user count, the report also provides information on the number of existing sharing links (Anyone and People-in-your-org) in those sites and enables SharePoint admins to identify potential root causes for oversharing. • SharePoint: Site Access Review offers a way for SharePoint tenants to empower site owners using Data Access Governance – SharePoint admins can use Data Access Governance reports to discover potential oversharing within their tenant. Once discovered, SharePoint admins can now request that site owners review permissions using the specific context of that report from within the report. They can also track all such requests raised from a central location. The site owners will receive a corresponding email and are redirected to a section within the site (site reviews) that clearly enunciates the corresponding data related to sharing and permissions along with the ability to take action. This feature is now available for Data Access Governance – Permissions based reports – count of permissioned user report. • SharePoint: Site access review from Sharing link reports in Data Access Governance – Site access review allows SharePoint admins to delegate access governance to site owners in the context of potential oversharing as defined within DAG reports. We earlier released site access review from within “Content shared with everyone except external users” report. Now, the same functionality will be available from all “Sharing link” reports as well. • 🆕 SharePoint: Enhanced functionalities to manage SharePoint Embedded Containers through SharePoint Admin Center – The new update empowers the SharePoint Embedded Administrators (SPE Admins) to manage their containers better through sorting and filtering capabilities as well as set sensitivity labels on containers. The SPE Admins now also have user role management capabilities to add, reassign, or remove users from various roles of a container. • Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365): Video drafting in Copilot powered by Clipchamp – Clipchamp brings video creation skills to Copilot. Type your prompt and Clipchamp will write a bespoke script, source high quality stock footage, and assemble a video project with music, voiceover, text overlays and transitions. Open your video project draft in the Clipchamp app to continue to edit, export, and share. This feature is great for informational videos, video messaging, how-to videos, demos, and video presentations. • SharePoint: Site ownership policy – Site ownership policy is a one-stop solution to effectively manage ownership needs of all SharePoint sites in your tenant. It helps you to define your organization’s ownership criteria and identify sites that are not compliant. You can further notify predefined set of users of your choice to find the next best site owner or admin. • SharePoint: Introducing archival and other enforcement actions with inactive site lifecycle management policy – Address inactive content on your tenant with inactive sites policy. Admins can configure policies to Detect inactive sites, send notifications to all site owners, and archive these sites or put them in a read-only state if there is no action from notification recipients. • SharePoint: Enterprise Application Insights for SharePoint sites – Enterprise Application Insights is a powerful report which helps SharePoint Administrators to discover all the SharePoint sites that are allowed access by third-party applications registered in your tenant. The report also provides details on the application’s permission and requests count to help admins take further action to strengthen the security of the site. When a card is relevant for a specific topic, the card will surface in the conversation chat and users will be able to interact with it directly from Microsoft 365 Copilot without interrupting the user’s flow. • Microsoft Teams: Microsoft Mesh app on Meta Quest headsets supports hand interactions – Microsoft Mesh app users on Meta Quest 2, 3, and Pro headsets can now use their hands to use the app, move around in event environments, and interact with objects. • Microsoft Teams: Stream Custom Agent and Bot Responses – Custom engine agents and Teams bots can now stream responses like Microsoft Copilot. • Microsoft 365 app: Microsoft Places – Intelligent suggestions in calendar – Intelligent suggestions will appear in the Places card in calendar and the Places people tab when users have actions to complete to organize their day. This feature identifies and attributes people in live transcripts, utilizing a unique voice profile for each participant enabling intelligent recaps and maximum value from Microsoft 365 Copilot in Teams meetings. • Microsoft Teams: Automatic installation and update of the Network Device Interface (NDI) in Teams (Windows Only) – This update now enables users to install and update the Network Device Interface (NDI) automatically in Microsoft Teams without any manual process. This allows organizations to broadcast audio and video streams from Teams instances to a user’s local network. It is currently only available on Windows devices. •   We’re adding audio support for screen sharing in Microsoft Mesh. Presenters will now be able to choose whether they’d like to include system audio when starting a screen share in a Mesh event. • Microsoft Teams: VDI Status Indicator – This feature provides a visual optimization status indicator in Teams for VDI users. It will provide the user with an easy to understand status message (like ‘Optimized’, or ‘Not Optimized’), some contextual information about the optimization mode (optimized with the WebRTC-based solution or the new SlimCore-based solution), and in the not optimized case it will provide a brief description of the problem and an error code, for better supportability. • Microsoft Teams: Automatically set workplace presence to the building level in Teams – When you connect to peripherals in a bring your own device (BYOD) room or at a bookable desk, your workplace presence in Teams will automatically be set to the building level (if you and your admin have given permission), simplifying coordination with others and enabling AI-assisted booking in the future. • Microsoft Teams: Vote on and archive Questions in Teams Q&A – Question voting allows instance participants to upvote the most important questions and sort by highest votes or recent activity. This gives moderators the ability to derive insights from the audience about what topics they care the most about and address them. Additionally, for questions that might be outdated or irrelevant, moderators can move them to a separate feed to ensure that presenters can focus on providing the most value to attendees. • Microsoft Teams: Block a user for your organization – With the availability of the delete API (removeallaccessforuser API), it does not stop the malicious user from resending the message to the same victim. To help prevent that, a block user API will allow the admin to block the malicious user from reaching out again. To make this even more effective, we will utilize a similar feature as the allow/block list in federation to block the malicious user from the entire organization. •  🆕 Microsoft Teams: Ability for meeting participants to edit their display name – Teams meeting participants will be able to edit their display name, enabling more flexibility in their meeting presence, regardless of their tenant set display name. • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Copilot in Teams can analyze content shared on-screen during a meeting – Now, Copilot in Teams can analyze content shared on-screen during a meeting when recording is enabled. This, along with meeting transcript and meeting chat, enables users to ask Copilot to summarize or find specific information from screen-shared content (e.g., ‘Which products had the highest sales?’), consolidate insights across both the conversation and presentation (e.g., ‘What was the feedback per slide?’), and draft new content based on the entire meeting (e.g., ‘Rewrite the paragraph shared on the screen incorporating the feedback from the chat’). This works for any content shared while sharing your desktop screen (including but not limited to documents, slides, spreadsheets, and websites, irrespective of platform or app). DLP restrict access action allows you to block access to guest users or all users depending on what labels or sensitive information types match your sematic models.
