• SharePoint: Updating all News Posts to “Made for Email” – Following the positive reception of the “Made for Email” News templates, we are rolling out a change that will make every news post you create “Made for Email” by default. Now, no matter how you create your new News Post, whether it is copying a previous post or using an existing template, you will have access to send that full distribution as an email. • 🆕 SharePoint: Site ownership policy – Site ownership policy is a one-stop solution to effectively manage ownership needs of all SharePoint sites in your tenant. It helps you to define your organization’s ownership criteria and identify sites that are not compliant. You can further notify predefined set of users of your choice to find the next best site owner or admin. You can also choose to automate actions on sites that remain ownerless for more than 3 months to prevent risks of data mismanagement. • Microsoft Teams: Text and UI resizing for Teams Rooms on Windows – IT admins can adjust the size of the text and all other UI elements on the front-of-room display by changing the display scaling settings. Text and UI elements are resized and adjusted for all supported display resolution and scaling combinations (1080p resolution at 100-150% scaling, 4K resolution at 100-300% scaling). • Microsoft Teams: Teams meeting recordings will be saved to meeting organizer’s OneDrive for Business – With this change Teams meeting recordings will be saved to the meeting organizer’s OneDrive for Business instead of to the OneDrive for Business folder of the person who initiated the recording. This improves the compliance of recordings as meeting organizers can then manage access permissions and recording file management. • Microsoft Teams: Group chat profile picture – You will have a better way to reflect your team and group chat topic, with custom pictures. Additionally, campaigns will be discoverable in the engage digest, enhancing visibility and engagement opportunities. • Microsoft Teams: Bidirectional support for Teams Live Interpretation – With bidirectional support in Teams Live Interpretation, interpreters can now switch the direction they want to provide translation in between the two languages by clicking on the button of the language they want to interpret into at the bottom of the screen. The highlighted language button will be the language the interpreter is translating into and attendees hear from. • Microsoft Teams: Use Teams Q&A to collect attendee questions in GCC – Teams Q&A enhances meeting and webinar participation for attendees by allowing participants to submit questions and engage in discussions. • 🆕 Microsoft Teams: Room audio auto-detect and pre-select in BYOD meeting rooms – When users connect their laptop to a room’s shared peripheral through USB, Teams automatically detects the room’s audio and recommends connecting on the pre-join screen, streamlining the bring your own device (BYOD) meeting room experience. For room devices (e.g., displays, audio devices) recognized as shared and on Microsoft’s known BYOD devices list, users will automatically transition to the room’s audio upon connection. • 🆕 Microsoft Edge: Edge on MacOS now seamlessly opens links in Teams – When you set the default browser to Microsoft Edge on MacOS and enable the feature, web links from the Teams desktop app sent via chats, channels, calendar, and other entry points will seamlessly open automatically in the profile that is signed into Teams app and skips the need to reauthenticate in the browser making it faster and easier to access content.  Administrators can control the availability of this feature using the “Choose Which Browser Opens Web Links” Microsoft 365 policy. • Microsoft Teams: Voice and Face biometric data export controls – This new feature provides controls for biometric data export for users. To ensure security and protection of user privacy, individuals can export their own biometric data, limiting risk of download or sharing by tenant administrators. • Microsoft Teams: Microsoft Mesh app on PC supports guest access for events – Mesh events allows for even better collaboration for more people by now supporting guest user attendees into the Mesh PC app. Event organizers can invite guest users outside their organization, providing an opportunity for broader collaboration and networking in Mesh events. Guests can sign in to the Mesh app to join events, participate in discussions, and experience the same interactive features as internal users, all while maintaining secure access control. Guest user creation follows the existing process for tenant guest user creation (outside of Mesh). For this release, guest users would require a Teams Premium license, just like regular tenant attendees, to collaborate within Mesh. Guest access for the Mesh app on Quest and support for anonymous participants will be supported in a future update. • Microsoft Teams: Start/stop recording on Teams Rooms on Windows – When attending a meeting using a Teams Rooms on Windows device, users can now start or stop recording without having to join on their companion device. The start/stop recording button will be available on the Teams Rooms on Windows device for all in-tenant meetings. This feature requires the Teams Rooms Pro license. • Microsoft Teams: New collaborative Project Studio environment in Microsoft Mesh – The Project Studio environment is a new space for immersive meetings and Mesh events. This space has been designed for synchronous teamwork and productivity for small groups to collaborate on content. • Microsoft Teams: Audio zones enable Mesh creators to craft custom audio experiences – Spatial audio in Mesh provides a realistic recreation of how sound moves in the real world, with the volume of people speaking or media playing getting lower of as you move away from the source of the sound.  The introduction of audio zones enables creators to craft custom audio experiences for the intended use of a space with features such as extended audio drop off distances for conversations that happen in a large area, or restricting what audio can enter a given area, to allow smaller groups to have lively conversations without disrupting their neighbors. • Microsoft Teams: Intelligent recap support for ad-hoc meetings and calls – Intelligent recap is available for ad-hoc meetings and calls, like those started from ‘Meet now’ and started from chat. Now, Teams Premium and Copilot for Microsoft 365 licensed users can easily browse the recording by speakers and topics, as well as access AI-generated notes, AI-generated tasks, and name mentions after the ad-hoc meeting ends. • Outlook: Prepare for Meetings with Copilot in the new Outlook for Windows and web – With so many of us in back-to-back meetings, it can be a real struggle to stay on top of pre-reads, action items, and even what each meeting is about. Copilot can identify and summarize the key points so you can show up prepared in just a few minutes. When you have an upcoming meeting, Copilot proactively shows you a “Prepare” button in your inbox which helps you quickly get context for the meeting providing a summary of the meeting and showing and summarizing relevant files leveraging the power of the Microsoft Graph. • Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Insider Risk Management – Granular trigger throttling – With this update, we are introducing more granular trigger throttling limits to isolate the impact of a surge in noisy trigger volumes and prevent other policies from being affected. This ensures that organizations can receive critical alerts without being throttled by these limits. By default, the throttling limits will be applied as follows: All sensitive triggers, including HR signals, Azure AD leavers, and custom triggers, will be limited to 15,000 per day per trigger. All other triggers will be limited to 5,000 per day per trigger. Additionally, the policy health warning messages will be enhanced to assist admins with appropriate permissions in identifying and addressing noisy triggers effectively.
