Classic SharePoint
Option 1: remove URL’s from search results
To remove results using the search results removal option, you will need to use an account that has administrator privileges to access the SharePoint admin center.
- Navigate to central admin, under Application Management > press Manage service applications
- On the Manage Search Applications page, open the Search service application
- In Search Administration, under Queries and Results > press Search Result Removal

- Enter the full URL(s) of the items you want to remove from the search results. I enter each URL on a separate line
- Press Remove Now

Option 2: remove results from search crawl
- Navigate to central admin, under Application Management > press Manage service applications
- On the Manage Search Applications page, open the Search service application
- Under Crawling > press Crawl Log

- On the Crawl Log page, click URL

- Now you can either:
- Filter by Content Source
- Or filter by URL or host name, specifying whether it is an exact match or not
- Additionally you can filter by Status (All, Success, Warning, All Errors, Deleted, Top Level Errors or Folder/Site Errors), Message or Start/ End Time
- Select the the item that you want to remove > press the tiny down arrow that appears next to the URL and press Remove the item from the Index

- Press OK to confirm that you want to remove the item from the index

- Once removed, you will notice a message under the URL of the item you just removed saying “Removed from the search index by Admin. This item will be excluded from future crawls”
NOTE: Occasionally I have found these search and filter options don’t bring back the URL of the item i’m looking for. If it doesn’t bring back the item(s) you are after, try using the find on page options from the browser (CTRL+F) for the keyword in the URL you are looking for and clicking through the search results pages until you find it.
Hi guys I really appreciate the helpful tips you provide, I just wanted to comment that the formatting of the email that WordPress spits out is horrible!

Hi Sam, thanks for the comment. To be honest I’ve been considering whether or not to change up how I format my posts to be more email friendly. I know the buttons I tend to use looks rubbish on the email notifications subscribers get. Leave it with me and I’ll figure out a way to make it better.
Cheers,
Anthony
